DAY 11 - 25th December 2005 Christmas Day
Weather Report: Early shower and then sunny, quite windy.
Christmas Day in Epcot
We woke quite early. We had brought some Christmas stockings with some small presents for the girls. We put them at the bottom of their bed before they woke
After the girls opened their presents we headed straight off to Epcot, expecting huge crowds!
We arrived at the International Gateway at 8:45am and we were met with - no crowds at all! Because the World Showcase doesn't open until 11am, the bridge to France was roped off and we were directed by a CM towards Future World via the UK and Canada.
It was quite strange walking through the UK and Canada with hardly anyone around.
After grabbing some hot chocolate we headed straight to Soarin' to get fastpasses. There was already a 40 min. standby line! After getting our FP we headed to see Crush in the Living Seas. We had a short 15 min. wait to get into see Crush. It's very clever how he interacts with people in the room
We came out of Crush and wondered round the Living Seas looking in the fish tanks before heading outside. It was beginning to rain and so we decided to head to the Electric Umbrella for some brunch.
Dining Review:
Me, Julie and Jade - Double burger and fries. This was the nicest tasting counter service burger we have had so far. Really nice char-grilled flavour.
Nicola - Chicken strips.
Drinks - 4 cokes
Total cost - $39.64
By he time we had polished off our brunch it had stopped raining so we heade round to Ellen's Energy Adventure. I'm ashamed to say I fell asleep half way round the ride
We then headed to have a ride on Body Wars before it closes for good. After getting of the ride and heading for the exit to Wonders of Life building Jade suddenly realised she had left her bag on the ride! So back we all go and Julie and the girls head back into the ride to retrieve the bag. After 10 mins. they appeared with the missing bag
It was now time for our Soarin' FP return, so we headed back over to the Land Building. Good job we got FPs - the standby line was now 100 mins.!
We managed to get a front row seat in the middle of Soarin' - much better when you can't see feet above your head
We came out of the Land and purchsed some of Julie's favourite snacks - glazed almonds and head to the World Showcase, starting in Canada.
Off-Kilter were playing as we entered Canada, so we stood in the sun listening to them for a while before we head off round the world. We took our time and went into shops that we have never been in before.
I ended up smelling very nice after trying the aftershave samples in Canada and France. I was running out of bits of bare flesh to spray the samples on
It was then Julie told me you are supposed to spray onto a little tester strip of paper!
When we got round to Mexico, Julie and I decided to sample a margarita - neither of us had had one before. Julie had a kiwi one and I had a lime one.
(Total cost - $15.98)
We sat near Mexico and savoured our drinks - quite strong aren't they
We had an ADR at Le Cellier for Christmas dinner at 6:10pm. It was now 5:30 so we took a steady walk round to Canada, nipping into the shops near the Christmas tree on the way.
We were a little early for our PS so we had another look round the Cadana shops - I resisted the urge to test some more aftershave! Peoples eyes were already watering if they came within 5 feet of me!
We went down to the restaurant entrance and were finally seated dead on 6:10pm.

Julie - Starter: Cheese Soup. Main Course: 7oz Filet Mignon
Nicolas - Main Course: 7oz Filet Mignon
Jade - Main Course: Kids Steak
Desserts: Kids had the smores and me and Julie shared a canadian club chocolate cake.
Drinks - cokes all round.
Total cost - $138.09
The meal was really nice and the service good too. We all came out very full
We were so full when we came out it was decided to take a slow walk back to the Dolphin. Once back at the hotel we got drink refills and chilled in the room.
