After making 5 trips to WDW last year I had decide to skip it this year and let my AP expire. However, when the free dining came out for Sept I couldn't resist. I spoke to my mom and she agreed it too good of a deal to pass up and said to book us both. I have a 7 day MYW with pluses left over from the free dining trip I took last Sept, so booked the new trip with only one day base tickets, planning to use my old ticket and to upgrade my mom's and basically letting the pluses go to waste (as my mom won't go to the water parks or DQ). Last week my mom then talked me into making a last minute trip in May because she really wants to see the flower festival. I got us both eight day MYW base tickets with the dining plan and because the trip was less than 45 days out had to pay in full, so can't change it without a fee. A couple of days later I called to change some ADRs for the Sept trip and went ahead and changed our one day tickets to 9 day MYW base tickets, deciding to save my old 7 day MYW with pluses to use at a later date (since my mom won't go to water parks or DQ). I also used my VISA to go ahead and pay off the Sept trip too.
Anyway after thinking about it, for the price I'm paying for an eight and a nine day MYW base ticket, for about a dollar more, I could buy an AP (not counting the $60.00+ I'd have to pay for the one day base ticket required to get the free dining). I've still got time to change the ticket for the Sept trip back to a one day MYW ticket. I could then wait until I get down there the end of this month to upgrade my eight day ticket to an AP. It would basically cost me about a dollar more, plus the one day base ticket which I would then have left over (along with my original old 7 day MYW with Plus ticket) to use next year. What would you do? If I have the AP I'm afraid I would probably feel I had to use it next spring before it expired. If I don't do it, I'm afraid I'd get the fever to go back next spring and then feel sorry I hadn't paid the extra ($60.00 +) now in order to have the AP to use for both park admisision and discounts). Sorry for rambling and hope I make sense!
