Has anyone ordered shopping online and had delivered by gooding to Old Key West? We don't have a car and this looks like a good way to get some items. We want simple items like Bread, cereal and milk.

We did look at walking to the crossroads but it looks abit of a challenge.

Any Help or tips would be great.

We usually order form GardenGrocer and have always had good service. You place your order online at www.gardengrocer.com and it is delivered to the resort. If you happen to be out when they come, they will leave your order with bell services who can bring it to your room when you're ready.

If there is anything you want that is not listed, for example beer or liquor, just include it with a note and they can supply that, as well. :thumbsup2

If you only need a few items I would just get them at the OKW store. By the time you pay Goodings prices and a delivery charge it will be about the same or less. If you want a fair amount of stuff then you might try wegoshop or garden grocer. People have reported very good luck with them. If you want adult beverages they will also get them for you.

Okay Thanks will check them out.

Just a question, can i request for the items to be delivered on check-in day? Will bell services bring the items to your room? How will they know what room to deliver to?

Can i get Bread, box's of cereal, milk ets from the onsite shop? Thats all we really need. Not been to Old Key west before so not sure what the shop has.

Yes, it is all available at OKW. Goodings is not a place that I would recommend. We thought they were overpriced for what they were offering. OKW will deliver to your room if you order ahead of time. Deliveries are made after 5pm. I think the service charge is $5.

Sounds like the store at OKW will work find for you. They have a good selection of basic groceries... bread, milk, eggs, cereal, and, of course, those holiday necessities like donuts, pretzels, dip, beer, etc. :lmao:They even have a few meals to heat in the microwave, in a pinch. The variety isn't the same as you would find in a gracery store and the prices are higher... you are paying for the convenience... but if you are looking for the basics, they have them. :thumbsup2

I would not suggest Goodings as other have said they are very overpriced and the quality of what I have seen in the store has been very low. I would have to say their prices may actually be higher than prices on property.

Our experience was the same with Goodings. High prices and a filthy store. We will never buy from there again.

We usually pack boxes of cereal, bagels, crackers, microwave popcorn (pretty much any thing that we can in the carry ons or checked luggage. At the resort we buy milk, bread, cream cheese, lunch meat (any perishables) the prices are not that much higher. Still better than a CS meal.

At dvcmember.com you can view and print the grocery order form for OKW. You can either just use it to get an idea of what they offer, or you can fax it in to them and have the groceries delivered to your room upon check in or any day you choose. We've done this many times before and love it. If you only want the basics, they have pretty much everything you need.

Thanks so much, Annette. That is good info. :)

I might be wrong, but I thought someone had posted on the UK boards that Goodings has recently closed or is closing shortly - as I say I might have got that wrong!:thumbsup2

I think i will stick with using the onsite shop as its seems to sell everything we need, we only really need items for breakfast as on QSDP.

Also, I forgot to mention, if you get delivery from OKW and you are not in your room when the items are delivered, they will go in and put all of the cold items in the refrigerator for you. That's another advantage of ordering the items from OKW.

The gift shop is across the way from the check in area so you can also just pick up whatever you need and take it with you to the room if your room is ready when you check in if you want to pick out your items yourself.

Vistana does this too---it's very nice. But, if you order from an outside agency and are not there for delivery, Bell Services will place any frozen/refrigerated items in cold storage for you and deliver it later when you call.
