We're putting together gift bags for my niece (8) and nephew (6) to have on the cruise. I don't want the made-up gift baskets because all our kids have plenty of Disney stuff already; I just want to have some fun things to make them feel special. So far, from ideas I've gotten over the few months I've been reading the boards, this is what I have on my list:

bubbles (for blowing at the bon voyage party)
one-time use cameras
sand castle building toys

Any other suggestions? Thanks!

I also want to add that if your kids are like mine, they won't be happy blowing bubbles ONLY at the party. I think the bubbles Gymboree sells are fabulous--they're not made of soap, so they don't get soapy residue on furniture, fabrics, carpet, etc. They're more expensive than regular bubbles, but well worth it IMHO. If you don't have a Gymboree in your area, check their web site.

You might want to get the waterproof one-time use cameras. My DS8 took some pretty good underwater shots when we went snorkeling at Castaway Cay.

Autograph books with thick fine tip marker (sharpie are great)

The characters have a much easier time with a sharpie as opposed to a pen.

Also sunglasses might be cool..

maybe "vouchers" to get quartermaster game cards once they are on board, if they like video games.

lanyards/straps to carry their KTTW card

How about kids sunglasses with the characters in the corner.
Kids love them!
My daughter has them in five different characters.
They sell them at Walmart for $5.00
Different boys and girls styles

Donna:) :smooth:

Pillowcases for the characters to sign (and a laundry marker to use for signing so it doesn't wash out).

DJ

How about goggles so they can see clearly underwater. Perhaps some kids snorkeling gear. I think I read on the board that they are available at Costco/Sam's club pretty inexpensive.

I remember reading an idea once that suggested getting those neon glow-in-the-dark bracelets and/or necklaces for the kids to use at the nighttime sail-a-way parties. My kids love these! I've seen them everywhere from Wal-Mart to drug stores.

When we did WDW last year, I bought Disney pajamas for both our little ones at the Disney store in NJ before we left for our vacation. The store gives you a nice Mickey Mouse gift box if you ask for them. We put them on their beds at the resort as soon as we walked in without letting the kids see them. When they (4 and 6 yoa) checked out their room, they screamed that "Mickey" had left them a present. Of course they wanted to wear them every night.

I'm collecting these great ideas and ordering the things for my DD's (7&10) from Shirley at The Perfect Gift. The gifts will be in the cabin waiting for the girls when we arrive, with notes from their favorite characters welcoming them back to the "Magic".

Two thumbs up for Shirley!!! Our kids LOVED the basket, and they were so thrilled that they had their favorite drinks (plus some for mom and dad), crayons, books, candy, and cookies in there. (How did Mickey and Minnie know what we like, mom;) ?)

Thanks again Shirley, for making us all smile!

Renee:)

A little more pricey -- but nice to have for trips if your kiddos don't already have ---
Gameboy/and games
CD player with headphones/CD's
:D

Premade business type cards with your kids names and email addresses. These are nice to hand out to their new found friends to help them keep in touch after the trip.

Certificate valid for one unlimited soda program. They can then get the soda package on board and also have a mug to keep as a souvenier. (just make a hand made certificate showing that you will pay for this once on board)

Funky suntan lotion -- I've seen the color change lotions and also the sparkly ones that alot of kids enjoy! PLUS sunscreen stick if your niece may want to get braids (this is a MUST HAVE to protect the scalp). Don't forget lipgloss with spf to protect their lips from the sun.

You can download and print out daily journals for them to fill in the blanks daily. I had these and a Disney pen hiding along with alot of the other items all packed and hiding in a new Mickey backpack that I handed to my son on the way to the airport. He was thrilled. The journals made it alot easier for him to remember things to write down for his report for school.

Where can you do this?

This is a neat thread, hope it keeps going. Maybe some Disney Dollars to pay for Arcade Cards too.

I've been looking everywhere for this! Any idea what stores sell it?

Closer to summer they'll have it at Target or Wal-mart, but beware, it stained my DD's bathing suit (pink suit, purple lotion)

I appreciate the warning! Since we leave in a few weeks I'm not going to stress over it being available in time (too many other stress-inducing deadlines!), but thanks for the info.
:D
