I need some ideas for goodie bags for my son's bday party. He'll be 1 on 1/24 and we're using a snowman theme. I bought snowman plates, napkins, etc. and I've found a great site with a snowman cake recipe.
The kids attending the party range in age from 1-9. What can I put in the bags that everyone will enjoy?

For my DDs birthday party (they shared, one turned 2, one turned 1) I put a small jar of bubbles, a small can of play doh, 8pk of crayons, a small coloring/activity book and a sheet of stickers. The kids at our party were 6 and under though. I also put in some fruit snacks and some other candy type thing.

All of these are great ideas for young kids. The favorites always tend to be bubbles and stickers!

If you are wanting to keep it snowman themed, you coudl try to find small snowman toys/pencils/balls, made for stocking stuffers, they should be on clearance about now. You could try to find those snowball cupcakes.

For a craft, you could have the kids "glue" together large marshmellows into snowment with icing and add chocolate sprinkles for the eyes and mouth.

I saw a link somwhere to a teacher supply store for something that makes snow. You could buy a bucket of it and let the kids make some at the party and have small bags made up ahead of time with directions and put that in their goody bags.

Snowman Soup

Was told you?ve been real good this year.
Always glad to hear it!
With freezing weather drawing near,
You?ll need to warm the spirit.

So here?s a little Snowman Soup
Complete with stirring stick.
Add hot water, sip it slow.
It?s sure to do the trick!

You could give each family a snowman making kit. I've seen them at some stores like the christmas tree shop, or you could make them. Make a large fleece hat and scarf. Put wooden wheels on short dowel sticks and paint them black for eyes and buttons. Drill a hole in the bottom of a long wooden snowman/carrot shape, put them on short dowels, and paint them orange for the carrot nose. Then put wooden pieces that look like a pipe onto a dowel and paint it black for the pipe. This is a lot of work, but it is so cute and everyone loves them.

A girl in the sweetpea's girl scout troop gave out "snowman soup" this year. IT was the first time I ever heard of "snowman soup". In the past I have recieved "snowman poop". Which was basically just a small baggie with a few mini marshmallows in it. Said something to the effect of ......You've been bad so heres the scoop, all you get it snowman poop. Probably not appropriate for kids, but I found it funny.

a good place to look is at oriental trading company run that through your search engine they deliver really quick :sunny:

Remember that with kids under three you have to think about choking hazards. Most things that are small enough to fit in a goodie bag are too small for little ones. Use a tollet paper roll as a guild. If it fits inside of the roll, it's too small to give a toddler. Oriental Trading is awsome for older kids but they state in the catalog items not for children under three. You could do all the bags differnt according to age and put names on them but that is a lot of work. Perhaps use all eatable snacks and do one for toddlers and another for the older kids. What about instead of bags, give each child a pair of mittens, or a cute wool hat???

Have fun whatever you decide.
