But if we just talked about VMK, wouldn't everything become repeatative and very boring? The occasional off-topic stuff is what keeps this going. And besides i don't think there is that much random nonsense anyway. If u take a closer look everything has something to do with VMK.

That is because Lori and I spent the better part of the week end making it that way....there were more than 20, believe me, you just can not see them anymore.

they have either been deleted or merged.

We did not say all off topic has to end, YET. But when the major part of the VMK board is OT then something has to give.

Also posting a new thread about the same topic over and over again because you did not look or you want to see that you were the one who started it needs to stop.

this is not a debate and we really hope some of the major offenders get their OT posts under control we would hate to see an end to all OT threads on the VMK boards.

There are plenty of OT threads already started and you can check this thread to find them before you start another one on the same subject matter.

Just reading down the first page of the boards helps too.

ok so i see the problem with ppl double posting, but i still don't see why OT stuff might be cut. i mean yes there are quite a few, but is it against the rules to make OT threads??? if not, then there shouldn't be a problem

I agree with you Krazy! Everytime i checked on this thread nobody was talking about the staff games or the ride-a-thon but about someone who just had to start a thread about their 200th post! I mean...congratulations but It really isn't all that interesting or affects me!

And thank you sooo much Mal and Lori for your hard work at merging and deleting! That must have been long and tiresome!

Because in a way it is against the rules we were only being lenient with them because there was not that many and we really want a community feel to the VMK boards...but lately the OT posts were outnumbering the on topic ones and we noticed that alot of the Members have/had quit posting to the boards altogether.

There is more to the Dis than just the VMK board. If you want to see things other than vmk, try looking at other boards.

VERY true. If you get tired of talking about VMK there are other boards to post on, that's what I do .

Well said Pete!! I was starting to not come on the boards so much lately, because of all of this OT stuff that was flooding the boards!

Like Tiinkerbelle said we should give Mal and Lori a hand because THEY are trying to make it so that the people who want to stay ON TOPIC which is VMK can do so and not have to scroll through many OT threads. Thanks Mal and lori

Yes, this VMK forum can get boring for you I am sure, when left to mostly VMK topics. So, I thought maybe you and other teens might not be aware of what I found with/for my DS. This VMK is listed under the heading "Just For Fun". There is a heading "Trip Planning", and under that, there is a "Teen Disney". Don't know if you have seen it or not, but believe me, there is all about movies and books and video games, as well as Disney, and the, OT as well.

Just noticed nobody directly mentioned this Teen Disney forum that is here on DIS, and thought maybe some of you would enjoy that as well as this VMK forum.

I am a teen, and I don't find it boring. I find the teen board boring. I just don't relate to that. And it being a Nintendo board, there is one thread on it, and it was missing for awhile. I started getting really annoyed with all the off topic threads that could have been posted in the teen board. I am sorry if this offends people, but yeah. And also, I seriously doubt the Dis Boards was made for kids our age. It is made for the ADULTS planning to go on the trips to Disney and such. Sorry If this is rude at all, I am just a very opinionated person. Now I know I post on the Nintendo thread, but sometimes there are way to many OT threads.

The VMK board is being seriously being littered with OT posts.

First of all I want to say this is the best VMK board out there! Secondly I agree that by cluttering it with OT stuff the content of the board is comprimised as being a true VMK related board. Lately I have to sift through many threads to find the latest posts on Rumors, New Items, Ride Details, etc. etc., basically all things VMK related.

I like the fact that all ages can enjoy this site, however I would hate to see this board become either a site solely populated by adults, or teens, or seniors, etc. The diversity is what makes it a success.

My opinion matters to no one in the grand scheme of things, but I fully support this movement to minimize the OT chatter going forward and would tend to think most feel the same way.

At the end of the day it is the Mods discretion and opinions which matter the most here since they have the power, yet feel that since we are the ones who keep the site as popular as it is, then showing our support in a "democratic" society (whatever that may be) should be shown as well. Hence my kudos to the Dis Mod Team
