We are going into the 60's tonight, tomorrow is the start of our dry period.
Five day forecast, no rain, high in 80's low in the 60-65.

Plan and pack accordinly.

Florida Cat--
Could you elaborate on the planning and packing accordingly??
We are heading down on Thurs (10/16) and staying thru 10/25. I guess we should plan for mostly shorts, etc.... Have our ponchos and umbrellas packed as well. Any idea on crowd situation??

We're heading down this Saturday and we're packing mostly shorts and t-shirts but we do have a couple pairs of light-weight long pants and sweatshirts too ... just in case it is cool in the mornings or the evenings.

So what about Tropical Storm Nicholas? From what I last heard on The Weather Channel it will still be down by the Windward Islands 5 days from now...guess it's a slow moving storm. So I think our stay at Disney will be OK but I don't want to have to get on a plane to fly home with TS force winds - yikes!

I don't think there is much concern there as it is getting no mentione on Orlando news. When there is a possiable threat, we are getting a pretty good heads up. You are packing right on.

Thanks for the good news, especially directly from Florida!!:wave2:

Pack like Emy'sMom and you should be fine. I would forget the umbrellas as they are a nuisance. I also recommend rain suits over Ponchos which can be a pain. You can get inexpensive one’s in most sports department at a Target or Wal-Mart. Crowds should be on the low to moderate for this time of year, bigger as we get close to Halloween. Avoid planning MK on Saturday as the locals are out there then. Do AK in the early morning as it is a tough park on little one’s with all the walking. Lion King is a must if you have not seen it. Same goes for Beauty and the Beast. If you alternate rides and shows, little people hold up longer.

Thanks for the weather report. We are leaving next Thursday - hoping for good weather then too!!!

I have had super bad luck this year... Our family was caught in the Colorado Rockies during the Blizzard in March. It was a mess. I then took my DS & DD to Galveston for a long weekend and woke up to Hurricane Claudette. She strengthened overnight and started moving faster, you know, the usual.

I am a little jittery about going on another trip. I feel like Shleprock (how do you spell that?).

We arrive late 10/16 and depart 10/21 at Disneyworld. O.K., this is giving you fair warning, you may want to change your reservations now! JK.

Thanks for the good news! I needed it today...you know, some days just don't go as planned. :( I wonder if I should plan on wearing pants to MNSSHP Sunday night...I tend to be on the cold side. Does the temp there seem to drop quick once the sun goes down? Thanks!

Yes once the Sun drops, the temps go with it. Long pants and a light jacket should do. We went down to 62 here last night and that is the lowest since last April. So after a looong hoooot summer, we are enoying it.

Have a very Magical time

Thanks for posting the on-the-spot weather conditions!!! It's much appreciated. I'm flying there this weekend (boo-yeah!). I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it stays nice for the coming week.

Thank you so very much for your weather forecast. We are flying in on Friday 24th (we are nearly there). The weather sounds lovely - in Scotland this morning we had to scrape the frost off the car - it really looked like an igloo - so any improvement on that is a great big bonus. See y'all soon.

That would be good news indeed--if it's right. And I hope it is!!!
We noticed the Orlando local weather forecasters to be pretty inept--or so "general" (ie 50% chance of rain, etc) as to make the forecasts almost useless.

Since we are narrow strip surrounded by a ocean and gulf and weather systems coming from all directions, it is a guessing game.

My personal take on weather is keep an eye on things, but don't worry as there is not a lot you can do about it.

What I am posting is what it is right now, and as I type it is clear and 59 degrees.

Overcast today, but great temps. Outlook for the wekend looks good as well as the first part of the week.
Enjoy
