Good vs. Evil Progress/Mailing *DUE NOW* - 11/11

I do not do Black Friday.. all the rude, nasty ppl come out..and I just don't do well with rude and nasty... DH and I tried it the first year we were married and he thought for sure somone was going to get hurt.. I assured him it wouldn't be me.. He took me to lunch and home..
Now we stay home and hang with the kids and have the best day!!! We watch the news reports about all the traffic and laugh because we aren't in it!

LOL!! I do exactly the same thing. I make a point of staying home and making it the most peaceful day possible. I make it FEEL like it's some sort of sacred holiday with nothing (no stores) open.

Well, I look at my calendar only to find out... I have to be some where on Black Friday.. My DS11 has a basketball tournament.. Of course it's out in the middle of no where(no good stores to even look at)...so I guess I'll bring some scrapbooking pages to do between games!!
I wonder if they would mind me setting up my little area to work from?

I got my Sizzix last year on Black Friday. It was like $35 which I thought, for the big machine, was pretty good. I don't mind it, but I ignore the electronics doorbusters/anything with a limit, skip the pre 7AM openings and I plan to be home by 10AM. I run out after the first wave of people, get what I want of the more normal doorbusters, and get the heck out of there. Then go home and put up Christmas decorations.

I got Hopemax and PrincessNancy's stuff today. I have started sorting and the first batch will go out tomorrow. Keep an eye out for a mailed back thread. I will post pictures soon. A smidge of bad news to share. I was going to mail today but my fridge died this morning. So I'm off to HD and Sears to see who has something in stock. Figures it dies after I go grocery shopping.

When it rains it pours, my new washing machine was delivered yesterday. That died last month. I'm just not meant to have money in the bank. So if the PO is open on Friday I will send everything then. Sorry for the hold up.

Off to shop!

I so know what you mean! It always happens that way here, too. DH & I used to swear that the minute we got an unexpected bonus from work or something cost less than we had expected (equalling saved money), something in our house would break!!

I hope you can find just what you need! Don't worry about the mailings--your family definitely comes first!! Wishing you a happy and calm (with nothing breaking) Thanksgiving!!

Thanks for the updates, Buffy! Sorry about all the appliance problems.....yes, it always comes in multiples just like all the car problems I had two weeks ago. But, then it resolves......hopefully!

Nah who needs a fridge with 3 growing boys. On top of everything else the milk was delivered this morning, that's how we found out it died. It was still running but not getting cold. The good thing is that it's so cold here today that I just kept the milk outside in the boxes. Mom took the 1/2 frozen meats and I pretty much tossed the rest.
Figures too DH was cleaning the back of the fridge and said you know this will be the next thing that needs to be replaced (it's 12 yrs old). I think the fridge got mad at him.

Off to get the kids and the 2 younger boys have a DR.s appt so I'll be back later. Oh and I have pictures of some of the groups so I'll start a thread with those later too.
