We currently have a P3 that we planned on taking to WDW in Aug. DD is 5 1/2 (35lbs.) so she doesn't use the stroller much with the exception of Disney. I was thinking of downsizing to an umbrella stroller that isn't as much of a stroller as this one is. I have some time so I think I'll sell the P3 and keep an eye out to buy a used one that fits my needs. I would like one that has a good sunshade, a basket, and maybe some recline in the seat.
Any suggestions on what stroller to look for? I was looking at the Chicco and Maclarens.

I love the Mac. DD was about the same age when I used it at WDW. Added bonus is the added bonus was the bottom basket. It was also easy to manuever on off the busses. I really enjoy that it has a shoulder strap. I don't think it reclines but dd had no problem napping in it.

what model do you have? I really like the Mac's just a little pricey but hopefully one will turn up on craigslist or a garage sale!

We have used the Mac Volo the last 2 visits for DS (now 5). I agree it was pricey but well worth it to us. DS did nap in it, even though it doesn't recline. I'm convinced that boy could sleep anywhere, but in fairness, he has always enjoyed napping in strollers.

I like the higher end Combi strollers. They are better than a umbrella stroller, but just as light as them and they recline, have a basket, and sunshade that is of a good size. They also cost less than Macs. You can get one on E-bay for under $100.00.

I dunno, it sounds to me like your P3 meets your needs - it still folds up nice and a bigger mac isn't going to be much lighter....

you don't think the mac or the chicco ones are smaller when folded? they look like they would be.

I have a Maclaren Quest and we love it, but I say that if the P3 meets all your needs then keep that one.

they may be a little smaller folded, but I know my maclaren techno isn't much lighter....I don't think it'd make that much of a difference on the buses, and you already have your P3...Just trying to be the voice of reason ;) BUT, if you want me to give you a reason to buy a new stroller, I can do that to! :rotfl:

I like maclaren quest, because my DS is big for his age but for under 45# the Combi is a great option. Much lighter and smaller-less expensive too.

We have a Chicco and like it. It came with a rainshade, the seat reclines slightly, there's a basket underneith, and a sunshade. The downside is that my soon to be 5yo DD is extremely tall (~44") so she is venturing on being too big for it. But she really only uses it these days when we're out and about and DD 3yo would ratehr walk and she'd ratehr sit. However we have used it at both WDW and DL and had no problems with it. It is a nice stroller and relatively light weight (in comparrison to our sit an dstand or Phil and Ted double). It collapses easy and has a handle to carry it by.

If you want something that will stand out a little from the crowd take a look at the Baby Planet endangered species strollers. They hold up to 65 lbs and come in some bright colors. We have the green tree frog one for my 6yo who weighs 38 pounds. He can pull the sun shade all the way down and take a vacation from his vacation.

:thumbsup2

LOL! I looked at the dimensions, and weight of the P3 vs. the Quest and decided you are right, the P3 is everything I want, why switch? I even asked DH and he said he thinks the P3 works great for us (go figure, I didn't think he even gave it much thought). I do like the big shade on the P3 so I can pull it down over the seat when its hot, and I like the steps on the back when DD just wants to jump on.....yes, thank you for reigning me in!:thumbsup2
