Just returned from Thanksgiving driving trip--didn't qualify for 1000 mile trip--only 978! I used numerous tips from the boards, but three really stick in my mind.
1. The power strip for electronics; 2. pizza boxes for car activities; I got small (10" approximately) clean ones from Pizza Hut and put colored pencils and paper in them. Also used a large rubberband to keep them closed when not in use. 3. "Goodie" bags with small gifts--wind up toys, Cinderella's glass slipper (I got a 6-pack from $ Tree and used 2 for each bag), small stuffed animal, etc. We doled them out at 1 per hour of travel.
We also had an in-car DVD player and the DGD's had DS's (up to date Game Boy type system).
I'm trying to put together a trip report, but . . .
