Good thoughts please

My sister's beloved golden doodle was diagnosed with cancer today. It is aggressive and treatment would only cause him more discomfort and the probable amputation of his front leg. They have decided to give him as much time as possible in a happy home. Please send some good thoughts to my family. He is one of the sweetest dogs on the planet. We are devastated. The vet had thought it was just a fatty tumor. The cancer was hiding in the center of the other tumor.

I'm also sorry for your loss! I actually came on today to escape my own doggie situation for a few minutes. My dog (11.5 year old lab mix) was diagnosed with lymphoma several weeks ago. I have been trying to decide when is the right time and, sadly, it was evident this morning that she is no longer enjoying things like she should. After work today, my plan is to take her to be put to sleep. I am aching with guilt. Literally aching!!

I hope you and your family can find some peace in knowing that Tucker isn't suffering now. And thank you for sharing your story and reminding me that this grief is happening to others and that I'm not alone.

Thank you everyone for your thoughts. He was a good boy. Now he can rip up all the stuffed toys he can get his paws on at the Rainbow Bridge. He never met a stuffed toy he didn't love to destuff. The squeaker inside was his prize.
