A little rant here....just got off the phone with Disney after a 60 min call --took a picture to sent to DH because I'm sure he'd think I was exaggerating. Yesterday I booked (or so I thought) an Illuminations cruise for July 4th. I was shocked when CM and I discussed for about 20 minutes my trip and wanting to see the 4th fireworks that she found something after putting me on hold several times. We talked about July 3rd and the same special fireworks being shown and comparing doing cruises near Magic Kingdom. She said she loved the Illuminations so much more etc. I kept saying I can't believe you are seeing ANYTHING the 3rd or 4th. Anyway, I booked, got a confirmation number and price of $371 for an Illuminations cruise.
After reading the boards this morning and researching the different cruises, seeing a holiday upcharge (which I asked the CM yesterday about) I decided to call again and check and ask some more questions about other cruises and my price.
After being transferred 3 times and put on hold a minimum of 15 times between the 3 CM's turns out I was NOT booked for July 4th but for JUNE 4th! Why don't they send confirmation emails?!?!? I asked the 3 people I talked to why they still don't do this... no good reason. I had to be transferred to "Ticket Services" and they couldn't even find my June 4th confirmation for quite some time. I don't understand why they can't send confirmation emails or link to accounts. I took my first Illuminations cruise in 2000--you'd think technology could catch them up. I would've been charged $371 on June 4th without even knowing about the wrong date. BTW the holiday rate for Illuminations is $900. Um no thanks
