Hi,

Thanks to everyone for all their help, and advice, we just got back from a week at the Wilderness Lodge. Flying out of Buffalo was the best advice that I got, it is so much easier than flying from Pearson.

We had a good time, but the girls enjoyed the pool and the characters more than the parks, so I am thinking that a Disney cruise would be great for the next trip.

Does anyone know if you are better to book through Dreams Unlimited, or if you get a better deal through CAA. If CAA is better can anyone recommend an agent in the GTA area?

Thanks again

We have always booked through DU for both land and cruise Disney vacations. I find the service and price great. I have never booked through CAA but I had a friend going at the same time as we did and paid more and got poor service.

We too have decided our next trip is a DCL cruise. We went with DU for this past trip and will be using them again.

You Can Do it Yourself, book what you want and then transfer over to a TA.

But remember, you must deal with that TA with any issues regarding the cruise and if you book yourself, you can take care of things yourself!

My vote will always be to use a Canadian Disney Specialist TA. There's a couple right here on the boards. Some of them are even CAA TA's.

Look at vacationstogo.com we booked the non-disney cruise we are taking this August and have had excellent service from them. I know they list Disney cruises on their website as we were looking at them.

Wow we decided to check prices for spring break 2008 for our family. It was 1700.00US dollars a day to cruise (cat 4) and that was not including flights. Back to Disneyland we go instead......wooohooo!

I was very happy with the excellent service from Small World Vacations

never heard of this, can you specify where to find them?

Agree. Small World Vacations is a good.
Next week we will have our 2nd DCL and this time CAA match SWV + onboard credit.
BTW, I am dealing with CAA @ Woodbine / Hwy7 (Markham, Ontario).

I know we're not supposed to blatantly advertise for people - which is what I tried to not do, but when you're around here long enough, you know, but here we go:

madonna31 - Fairy Tale Dreams and Destinations
tmli - CAA TA
misslisa - CAA TA

and I don't know if my TA id a dis'er - but her name she has been mentioned by a couple people on this board- Kathryn - Dreams Come True

All Canadian - all Disney TA's.

Disney TA here ! Located in downtown Toronto.

Disney Specialist....College of Disney Knowledge Graduate 2004 & 2006
WDW On-Site Education Program - Feb. 2006.
:)

What do you feel personally is the advantage of using a Canadian TA? I would like to know since presently I am using a US one but am planning another trip.

I don't know the ages of your kids but I do know that it's sometimes cheaper to book 2 lower category rooms that are connecting than one room in a cat 4. Have never done this as there's only two of us but have heard it mentioned.

I'd be curious to know who you used at that CAA because we were in there some months ago and they were clueless about Disney. We live closeby which is why I ask.

I'm going to be completely honest.

First and foremost; giving your business to a fellow Canadian. :)

Secondly, knowing what has to be done. For example, when taking a Disney Cruise, customs is completely different for a Canadian resident then it is for an American (my 5:30 wake up call aboard DCL can attest to that). Knowing the ins and outs of being a Canadian is always a good thing.

Third; discounts. The recent winter offer (which included an upgraded park ticket and a small discount on the cost of the room for Jan/Feb travel) was offered to Canadians first. I assure you that Canadian agents knew of this discount BEFORE American TA's did. :thumbsup2

It is cheaper yes as you mentioned but not that much and I want the balcony. We decided to go back to our happy happy place....Disneyland instead.

Well since we are going back to our happy happy place I will definitely keep in mind all the great people mentioned on this thread as we have not chose a TA for that trip yet.:thumbsup2
