Good spot for fireworks if we skip parade?

Hi all! We are here at DLR now and having a blast. We got super lucky and snagged a last minute curbside seat for the parade last night. So we have cancelled the BB parade package I had booked for Friday and will plan to skip viewing the parade. But we still want to see the fireworks and would love to see them from the hub. Is this possible? Can we stand back and wait for the parade to pass then move into the open area on the street? Or is there a better way to do this or a better spot to see them?

My favorite spot to see the fireworks is from Big Thunder Mountain. Going up that first climb, if you time it right, it looks as though you're dropping into a firework. Once I discovered this, there is no other place I'd rather watch the show.

About 5-10 minutes before the parade starts, go to the side of the hub opposite the parade route. There will likely be a few people who vacate to get a better view of the parade. Worst case if it's already full you can still fill into the part of Main St closest to the hub when the parade passes.

The parade route comes from the Matterhorn and turns at the Hub, on the street next to the Hub is a good location. View of the Castle and Matterhorn projections.

You will want to be in Tomorrowland (or a spot with quick access to the street) and move quickly once the parade passes. It is not possible to follow the parade from IASM, since guests are directed (forced) to take the sidewalk in front of the Castle.

Thanks! This is exactly what we needed to know because I was considering trying to join in the crowd behind the parade after it passed the Alice area.

We are not looking for the perfect view, we are both tall so any street spot should be fine. I will hang out at the edge of tomorrowland and move in when it goes by like you suggested.

How long after the parade passes the hub does it take before they start the show approximately?
