Sounds like the knock-offs to me.

Walmart has cheap ones for $1 for a pack of 12. Of course, not the real things, but my kid doesn't care- especially when they come out of the package!

On the Mooglex website (and video) they promote them as REAL Silly Bandz, however this was posted on Slickdeals a few days ago and those who have received theirs say they are fakes. Apparently they are very small and also break easily. Of course I ordered myself before the others received theirs and posted, so I am waiting for mine to arrive to confirm and also dispute as others have due to the false marketing.
