I was thinking about adding a signature 2 ts restaurant to our dining plans. Which one do you think would be ok for kids? I am not interested in dinner shows. Thanks!

When dd was 5 we ate at Brown Derby and she really liked it. We didn't go this last time because it was 2 credits but my mom is going with us on our next trip and that's her favorite, so I know we'll go back.

California Grill is great for kids. My sons have been going every year since birth. They love it. It is an open kitchen so little voices are not a factor. They love to look out at the MK. My boys love the Mickey pasta. They won't eat any other because of it. The boys are 6 and 3 now. We have eaten at the bar, in the lounge area and at the regular tables. All of them worked for kids.

If I were adding a 2 TS credit restaurant w/ kids, I'd add either California Grill or CRT.

Hmmm... I'll have to disagree. We just had a rather unsatisfactory experience at what has always been one of my favorite restaurants, Brown Derby. There was a general lack of consideration for the fact that we had children with us, something which we didn't encounter anywhere else. Pretty shocking, actually, given how much we've recommended this restaurant previously. It does have great food though.

California Grill has always had indifferent service, so I cannot recommend that too highly. Chefs de France also has some service issues, but it's French, so at least it is within the theme. :) Flying Fish has decent service and super food, but I find the place to be too frenetic and loud to be a good spot to bring children for dinner.

Artist Point treated us very very well, and it provides some of the best dining available at WDW. That would be my recommendation.

California Grill sounds great! What is the dress code? I guess my fear is that at the signature rest except for CRT that it would be mostly adults and couples. Can't you see the fireworks from CG also? Sorry I am so full of questions. I know you guys have the answers on this board because you have answered all of my questions so far. Thanks!

Dress code for California Grill is "Disney business casual." I typically wear a rolled-collar shirt, light-colored khakis, and Docksider shoes.

You can definitely see the fireworks. They even pipe in the music.

We've eaten at the Yachtman's Steakhouse & Brown Derby with our 7 and 4 year old last May. I find most signature restaurants at Disney have the typical children's menu. (not that I like them but that's another post)...
