We are going to have a car for this trip, and thought we'd try some seafood restaurants off site. Does anybody have any suggestions? Thanks for any tips.

Sounds like you will not be on a plan. That being the case, do yourself a favor and try bluezoo. Leaps and bounds the best seafood restaurant in the area. It is in the Dolphin hotel. I think they validate parking.

I guess I'd need to know what KIND of seafood?
On site the Blue Zoo, Flying Fish, and Fultons have pretty good selections.

We stayed off property one year, and I swear the only restaurants we ever saw were Dennys and some Golden Coral place. We didn't venture very far, just from the house right to Disney, which was pretty much one straight road, but that was all we found. Maybe you can do some research and find some good places!!! Not that Dennys isn't gourmet..... lol

I'm a big seafood fan (I'm a HUGE blue crab fan and snowcrab fan in particular!).
My hubby and I searched around trying to find something appealing to us, and discovered a little dive called High Tide Harry's (which has since moved to a new location, but still has the good seafood). So far, out of the 4 times we been there, we HAVE NOT been disappointed!

Here's a link to their website. Check it out, and see if it's something you'd be interested in. :) It reminded us of some of the good seafood places in Ocean City, MD that we enjoy.

I'd say it's about 20 minutes drive from on property.

thanks everyone for all of the suggestions.

DisneyLovingRN - we definitely have the same seafood taste - yummy crabs - nothing like 'em...we luv our Maryland crabs, and Ocean City MD.:woohoo:

Moved to the Orlando Attractions board, where you will likely get more responses from guests who typically eat offsite.

There is a Joe's Crab Shack, and a Boston Lobster Feast both on 192 across from Celebration

I love Boston Lobster....the crab legs are so good. Sign up and you will get coupons.

I have always stayed off-site and a couple years ago i did a search online to find the best seafood restaurant in the area to try out (that would not completely blow us out of the water--budget wise). The one I chose was Bonefish Grill on Sand Creek Rd. If you are in the WDW area, it's about a 15 min drive.

The food, atmosphere and drinks are awesome! I did not know when I picked it, but it's actually a chain restaurant. But...it's the best chain restaurant I've been to (after Ruth Chris). The prices are reasonable--they have entrees for all budgets and the service has always been great. I can't wait to go there on my September trip, as they don't have a Bonefish by me.

My favorite places to look for restaurant reviews when I'm traveling is Trip Advisor and Yelp. You will see on Trip Advisor that Bonefish has a higher ratings than the Disney seafood restaurants.

I think I'm with you guys. We went to the Bonefish on our Spring Training Roadtrip, and we loved it - but it was pricey, IMO. Harry's looks like fun!

First let me caveat this by saying, I am from Maryland. Seafood is a way of life here. Everything from blue crabs, fish, oysters and shrimp. I know my seafood.

I have been wanting to try Joe's crab shacks forever. Their pots look so good on the commercial. Decided to try it when I was there in May. I was so disappointed. The pot we got had crab legs, shrimp, mussels, potatoes and sausage.

I didn't think it was very good at all. For the price I paid at that place, I could have gone to the local grocery store, had them steam up some crab legs and shrimp, boiled some potatoes and had money left over.

I am a huge fan of Bonefish Grill though. Their food is amazing. Kind of dressy casual. Great drinks. If you like spicy try the bang bang shrimp.

I was also going to recommend High Tide Harry's.

My sister and brother-in-law live in Orlando, and they told us about it. My husband is from Connecticut and is picky about seafood. He had to fly back home for a few days, and we ate there on the way to the airport. His first request when I picked him up when he flew back in to Orlando was to go back to High Tide Harry's. We loved it!

We also love Joe's Crab Shack! It is very close to DD. Their servers are crazy, the atmosphere is a lot of fun. My 14yo DD gets up and joins in with the servers when they come out to dance. We will be back. Their t-shirts are hysterical! :rotfl:
