We are looking at switching our insurance from State Farm to Good Sam Club because of the savings that are offered with Good Sam Club. We would be switching our 2 vehicles and Travel trailer.

So Dis Boards members, do you have any experience with this company? TIApixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:

We belong to Good Sam's for the campground/gas discounts with our camper, but I've heard negative things about their insurance programs on the camping forums I frequent so we never looked into prices.
HTH some.

Me personally have been with state farm for over 30 years. I would not think about changing. I am happy with the service and amount I have paid.

Pretty much the same here, although I did have Allstate when I lived in a state that State Farm didn't sell insurance in.

Not about to change. Would worry that I'd get an introductory come on rate and than have my rate jump the next year. I feel I get fair rates and great service from State Farm.

State Farm = outstanding service

IE
over 40 years ago another insurance company refused a claim. Call State farm and the said not to worry the have ways to collect.

I had a cardiac arrest several years ago and ran the SUV into a light post resulting in $2,000 plus damage. They had it repaired immediately by dealership. One call is all it took.

I got rear ended and I made the mistake the claim with the other fellows insurance All *****. I had a $500 deductible. After four weeks of waiting for them to access the damage I called them and they finally got it repaired.

Called State Farm and they said don't worry. Within I got my $500 back.

Can't beat that service.

For the love of God...RUN! Stay away from good Sam so many people I know who own travel trailers have had them and tried to claim something only to be denied for some reason or another. Stay far far away.

I had State Farm for over ten years. Two cars, no claims. Then I totaled my car.

Upside, they paid quickly and without complaints, using the average sales value of that particular car in my area over the last 30 days, which actually turned out to be several thousand dollars more than I paid for it.

Downside, on my next renewal, they doubled my rates.

I left and went to another company.

We have State Farm with two vehicles and a travel trailer. I was shocked when our TT was only $37 a month to insure..yes I know the primary responsibility is with the vehicle hauling it but this is a 32 foot $25,000 trailer, pretty cheap I would say. We are older but our rates are reasonable and I caused an accident earlier this year, pulled out of a parking space and got too close to the SUV next to me and caused a fair amount of damage to both...answer was "no your rates will not go up, this is your first accident". My husband had Allstate before we got married last year. By switching him to my State Farm policy, we saved over $1200 a year...that is a lot of money. When I got the quote my agent said "I have no idea why they were charging what they were".

I recently switched from being with State Farm for 16 years over to Ameriprise thru Costco. I saved a ton of money on the vehicles policy (we have never had any accidents, knock on wood) as well as a ton on our homeowner's in TN... and got better coverage to boot. However, I kept our rental in SC and my husband's motorcycle with state farm b/c the rates were about the same for those 2 items as at Ameriprise/Costco. We plan to sell the SC home next summer and then I will move the motorcycle over to Ameriprise. Check them out!
