Are some of these rooms more quiet than others? Closest to the Tower, etc? Looking for a little more understanding about where these rooms actually are...;)

Thanks!!

I don't know that there is an easy way to describe "garden view" rooms in the "garden wing." Not all "garden view" rooms are in the "garden wing" but if we are talking about the garden wing, Garden view "standard" overlooks the lawn, the pool or the bay. (This is not to be confused with the "standard view" room which typically overlooks the parking lot. The Garden view "deluxe" room is a suite - bedroom and sitting area).

Cut and past this into your address line to and look at the lower right corner to see a room number map for the garden wing rooms. www.wdwinfo.com/resortmaps/contempmap.htm

As to quieter rooms, I'm not sure what you mean by that. If you mean the construction noise, there is very little and none at night. I will say that some of the rooms that face the bay (especially the ones that face the canal) might be considered noisy simply because the friendship boats and the ferries travel it and blow their horns before they enter the bay. They don't run too late, however. We were always so tired it never woke or bothered us.

In terms of proximity to the tower, we had the room furthest from it and the longer walk never bothered us. If you want a room closer to the tower, ask for one (on the diagram they are the ones in the lower left corner).

Finally, the best way to get information on the CR is to review the CR thread (cut and past this into your browser: www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=22833911). That thread has over 230 pages of discussions about just the contemporary.

Basically all this info that jcb posted is correct when it comes to the South Garden Wing building. I also agree that it's best to post this on the official Contemporary thread because you might get some better responses over there.

The closest rooms to the tower will be the standard view rooms, which over look the parking lot, and a few of the garden view rooms that are across the hall from the standard view rooms. But when you are talking closer or farther, there's only a difference of a minute or two in getting to your destination.

Personally, even though the walk is longer, I prefer to be at the back of the wing, near the lake. That is the quietest part of the wing, because the farther back you are, the less foot traffic you are getting by your room. When I was there in December, I had a room at the end of that back hall, facing the pool, and close the exterior door. It only took a couple minutes to walk to the tower, and the area was very quiet.

Another quiet view is any room that overlooks the waterway that connects Bay Lake to Seven Seas Lagoon, especially the rooms along the central hallway. It's nice to watch the boats go by, and you don't have a lot of foot traffic outside your room on that side.

Thanks so much for the insight everyone!:goodvibes I have been reading the Contemporary thread, I didn't think to post there!:rolleyes1 I'll do that too.
