Hi,

My family has a trip planned to WDW for next spring. This will be our first time there, and I've been buried in the guidebooks for days now. We're trying to decide on which restaurants we want to get P.S. reservations at when the time comes, and although we are trying to stay easy on our food budget, we would like to splurge at least once on an expensive dinner/and or lunch at one or two of the parks. At the MGM Studios, I'm looking at either the Garden Grill or the Coral Reef. Which of the two would you choose for atmosphere and quality of food? And at Epcot, there's just so many choices, so any suggestions there would be much appreciated. :D

**Edited to add: Thanks to WDWAurora, I am now aware that the Coral Reef and the Garden Grill are at Epcot instead of MGM- thanks again Aurora!

Well, let me help first by saying that both Garden Grill and Coral Reef are at Epcot, in the Future World section. At MGM, I would consider 50's Prime Time Cafe and Mama Melrose's. At Epcot, Teppanyaki is my current favorite, but Biergarten is also yummy. MK-Ugh. Don't get me started on the lack of nice restaurants without characters. AK-It has a Rainforest Cafe, but that's the only sit-down restaurant. At DTD, try Rainforest or Wolfgang Puck's Cafe (I think that's the right one, the one downstairs). Wolfgang's is AWESOME!!!!!

Hope that helps!

Oops! We would've been really late for our reservation then! :hyper: I don't know why I thought they were in MGM. But, yes, you were help Aurora- in more ways than one, lol.

We like Mammas at MGM, although I think for elegance you'd be better of at Brown Derby (I've never been).

At Epcot, we loved the Coral Reef for seafood, Le Cellier for beef, and Alfredos for Italian. I suppose it depends on what kind of food you want to splurge on! The Garden Grill has character meals and the restaurant is very cool, but the food was just so-so.

I think the restaurants that you mentioned are fine but if you want a nice dining experience, try Citroco's at the Grand Floridian. You do not have to be a quest at that hotel to dine there and the food and the ambiance is outstanding. ;)

W just had our expensive splurge at Coral Reef last week! It was wonderful as usual!!
If you need a splurge for MGM...try Brown Derby!
