I'd like a sit down place at MK. Any preferances between..

Liberty Tree Tavern
Plaza Restaurant
Tony's Town Square

Our favorite place before MVMCP is Liberty Tree. We usually try to get a 5:30 - 6:00 ADR that way we are done with dinner about the time the party begins.

Cheers-

Try to make your ressie's soon & have them ranked in order of preference before you call. I tried last month to book & the earliest was at 7 for anywhere. I didn't want to do that since that's when the party - that I'm paying for - begins. I went outside the park to Chef Mickey's at 5:10 since it's easy access from the park.

we are at the mvmcp on 11/30 and got a ressie for tonys for 5.05 no problems and i phoned on 07/17 for that one but missed out on the hoopdeedoo revue. nevermind

The last 2 MVMCP and MNSSHP we had dinner at the Crystal Palace before the park closed for non ticket holders....it was great! This year we are changing it up a bit and trying Boma before MVMCP......we are going to AK for the day, have a late lunch/early dinner at Boma 4:30 and heading over to MK after......

MickeyNicki, have you booked at 4:30 ADR for Boma? the menu says dinner begins at 5:00. will that give you plenty of time to make it to MK for starting of the party?

We've eaten twice at LTT and loved it each time. The food is good and the charecters are great. We are trying Tony's this year because we were just there last year and want to try something different.

I've eaten at LTT, CRT, CP and Tony's before parties. I haven't eaten at the Plaza because the menu doesn't appeal to me.

I enjoyed all the restaurants.

LTT is good for location and the festive atmosphere and that you can book it so early. I doubt you'd have any luck getting an ADR now though. They take ADRs till about 9:30p.

CP is good for the buffet/characters. They take ADRs till 6:00p.

CRT is good for location and food. Too expensive now though. They take ADRs till 6:00p.

Tony's is good for the atmosphere (and the steak!). They take ADRs till about 9:30p

We make ADRs anywhere between 5:00p and 5:30p. Some places are a faster meal then others. LTT/CP/CRT you should allow more time (about 1 1/2 hours) then Tony's. We were out of Tony's within an hour.

We weren't crazy about LTT's food thus we tried all the others.

This year we're dining at Tony's again. My girls loved it.

Isn't Cosmic Rays open to meals? We usually do a sit down before MNSSHP or MVMCP, but we wanted to try it differently this year. Can we get food at Rays about 5:30, and then just stay in Tomorrowland? I heard they do an early show at the TL Theater for MVMCP.

Yes, Cosmic Rays is open for the party.

Last year, Adventureland/Frontierland were kept open for the hour the park is closed. Not sure if there was an early show last year in Tomorrowland or not.

We always have our pre-MVMCP dinner at Crystal Palace. The buffet is very good and the characters are always a plus. We book an early dinner and are finished before the party gets going. It works perfectly for us, and we much prefer the food at CP to LTT or Tony's.

We called a few days after the 180 mark to get around a 6 p.m. dinner for CP (it's a night of a Christmas party but we're not going on that night we'll just already be in MK) and the latest they had was 5:05 p.m. MK restaurants fill up fast on MVMCP nights.

I would suggest going to 'Ohanas, Cali Grill, Chef Mickey's, or 1900 Park Fare around 5-6 before the party (that's what we're doing on the night we're going to MVMCP) then just ride the monorail back over to MK.

If you absolutely want to stay in the park I would suggest Tony's. :thumbsup2

When I called for the ADR the CM told me 4:30 was available and that was the start of the dinner menu...I hope she was right, maybe I should call back to double check.

I figured we could spend one hour there and take the bus from AK to MK and get there by 6 or a bit after.....that would still give me plenty of time to enjoy the party.

The last few times we ate at CP we rambled out of there and into the park around 5:45 or 6ish......

When we went to MVMCP we ate at GF before we left for the party. I don't think i'd eat during the party, I didn't pay extra $$$ to sit in a restaurant, even if the meal is special / whatever. I'd try for a 4:30 at one of the restaurants in the MK area. We really didn't have time to eat at a restaurant though, we were busy waiting in a line for the picture or waiting (forever!) for the parade to start. The most waiting I did that whole week was during MVMCP. I'm choosing my dates very carefully next time. Sorry, I got way off subject rambling on and on about my problems.

We make ADRs at CP for around 4 PM, have a nice dinner and then hit the party early and stay late!

We have a 4:50 ADR at the Plaza before the party. I don't want a buffet so that we can move with cat-like quickness during the party, and we're doing WCC, 'Ohana, and Boma earlier in the trip. Also, CP and LTT will be about 50% more than the Plaza for us. (And I don't feel like paying 18 bucks for a plate of spaghetti.)

Everybody's different. Except for the people who are the same. :teeth:

We always do a 5 PM ADR at the POLY. This year we are doing Kona. :)

We had settled on Tony's and I made ADR's but talking about it again, we may change to CP. I am in debate b/c we are going to Alfredo's the night before. We have done CP for Bfast before and really liked it alot. Buffets are easier with the kids and the 2 yr old eats free. I have a CP bfast already schediuled so I have to think some more.

As you can get into the park from 4:00 with your party ticket, we will probably not go into a park that day and just do a large late lunch (maybe around 2:30 or so). That way when we get into the park at 4:00 we can enjoy the rides and attractions until 6:00 when they start closing down the park. If we want something else to eat during the party we will just do counter service (we had great hot dogs at Caseys two years ago while watching the first parade). We also might want to get a mickey bar. Actually would love a Dole Whip - not sure if this place is open during the party. Last year we ate at Liberty Tree and while it was great, I don't want to take any time away from enjoying the party.

I'd vote again for an early leisurely buffet at CP, complete with lots of favorite characters to set the mood for the evening, and I mention it again because although I've read different at times, all six of the folk in our party, a couple of whom are real food snobs and not given to buffets, really enjoyed CP's.

We don't stuff ourselves at buffets when we do them, but afterwards we were good to go from 5 PM to 1 AM, with just a hot chocolate and cookie to top the night off.

Still, you can't go wrong with whatever you do.
