Every time I go to Disney on the dining plan......about 3 days into the trip I get a craving for pizza!!!!!!!!Yep,,,,just some thin crust, mozzarella,,anything on top like sausage or bacon...........Your thoughts?!?!?!?

OH YEAH,,,,,,,No Anchovies Please!! :fish:

We've found pizza at WDW to be a tricky proposition. None of it is awful, but some is better than others ...

We liked the flatbreads (is that close enough to a pizza??) at Mama Melrose's, and at Wolfgang Pucks (not sure if that's on the DDP.)

The rest of the family likes Pizzafari. It's OK (but their Italian sandwich is better to me.)

Most of the pizza at the counter service places and food courts is on par with the frozen stuff. We usually avoid it at all costs.

We do LOVE the tasty flatbread pizzas at places like Wolfgang Puck Cafe, Jiko, Mama Melrose, Artist Palette at Saratoga Springs, etc. They aren't quite like regular, run of the mill pizza - but we really love them!

If you get desperate, there are some off-site places that will deliver - Dominoes, Papa John's, etc. And, Giordanos pizza is wonderful! They are nearby (if you have a car) or will deliver.

Thanks Dreamfinder2 and Gem!!!!

You are both very sweet and helpful!

I made the mistake of clicking on the Giordanos link
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Looks Good ...That's Dinner!!!

Of all the smilies on this site,,I am surprised they don't have one
of someone EATING!!!!!!!!!!!! :rotfl:

We found excellent pizza on the Boardwalk, I think they just had pepperoni and cheese at the window but if you go inside they may have other options.

i'm not a big pizza eater but i actually enjoyed the pizza from pizzafari - and by the way it is not frozen, but it is made on an assembly line type contraption - i saw it on "unwrapped" a few weeks ago

I'm a big fan of the flatbread at Saratoga Springs.......but for something closer to "real" pizza, I'd suggest pizzafari at AK.

The pizza at Pepper Market was pretty good. I think they have a big pizza oven right there. Thicker crust than some might like but I enjoyed it.

I didn't say it was frozen . . . just that it tasted pretty much like frozen pizza.

I have to agree with you there..it did TASTE like frozen..I saw that unwrapped special too.. Now its my understanding that pizza planet makes their pizzas the same way but for some reason I enjoyed their pizza much better than pizzafari..

Well, they do have popcorn::

and for the coffee fans :coffee:

and my personal favorite :mickeybar

And in regards to pizza, we also thought both Pizza Planet and Pizzafari's pizza was a lot like frozen, but Pizzafari does have a wonderful and huge Italizan-style sandwich

Hot Italian Style Sandwich with Chips - Turkey, ham, Swiss and Provolone Cheese topped with Caesar salad and pesto marinated tomatoes - $6.79

Giordanos!

Oh my !

We went to Chicago 3 years ago, and waited in line (standing room only) for 1 1/2 hours for Giordanos. That pizza is all my husband talks about from that trip.

He's going to flip when I tell them that he can have it delivered to his hotel room.

What great news on Father's Day!

Just wanted to come back and reccomend the Italian Sandwhich at Pizzafari. It's WAY better than their mediocre pizza.

And, like I said, I love the flatbreads. I would consider staying at Saratoga Springs again just for the chicken and artichoke flatbread from Artist Pallette.

I'm not a huge fan of WDW's Pizza if your looking for a more traditional style pizza.

I also agree the Hot Italian Style Sandwich at Pizzafari is awesome!!

a BIG THANKS to all of you who have replied!!
There is nothing like a pizza question to get the boards going!
I have to say one thing,,,I am amazed at the intelligence and
knowledge shown on these boards...I use to think that I knew
everything about WDW and the Resorts. I was so WRONG!!
The members on this board continually impress me with their
knowledge and expertise! I also envy so many of them, because
untill now, I though I had visited WDW many times, but it now
seems I am a novice with "JUST" 20 visits!!!The vacation dates
after so many of the signatures shows me I have a lot of
catching up to do....So in the meantime,,,Thanks again,,, :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship:

Oh, and ted2........these are for you!!!!!!!!!!!.............................

California Grill always has some great flatbreads on the menu.

We haven't tried Artist Palette but otherwise I second and third Dreamfinder and Gems lists. Have to get over to Artist Palette one of these trips. :thumbsup2

I haven't tried any of the flatbreads anywhere, making a mental note to do so, but the pizza at Wolfgang Puck Express is VERY good. The four cheese pizza tasted VERY close to the pizza I had over and over again in Italy. Not exact, but the closest I've found here. The margherita doesn't really compare to Italy, but it's alright. Not sure about other types of pizza - I can't get past the 4 cheese, LOL. And it's 1 CS credit. Excellent excellent value.
