Good pizza in/near parks?

Love Pizza Press! Though "build your own personal pizza" chains like Pieology and Blaze use actual pizza ovens, and Pizza Press uses a conveyor belt type oven, I think Pizza Press tastes better!

I did Pizza Press for the first time Dapper Day weekend...I'm sold. I ate half of it there and took the rest back to my room for later. Unlimited toppings for $10 is pretty awesome. I got The Chronicle pizza and added chicken for no extra charge.

Okay so this is too far away for OP, but for anyone who has a car and is willing to drive for dinner, I recommend Giant Manhattan Pizza 9842 Katella Ave, Anaheim, CA 92804. This place has great pizza, they do sell a GIANT pizza (box was about the size of the top of the stove in our condo), and the price is good considering how large the pizzas are. We've eaten there twice. First time we ordered a typical large pizza for our family. Second time we ordered the Giant Pizza because there were 8 of us.

We LOVE Giant Manhattan! I'm so glad you mentioned it. If you're staying on-site we like to grab Naples at DTD and bring it back to the pool/room. I like it enough.

Cortina's on Orange Ave is pretty good too. We don't LOVE pizza so we usually eat other things but those are our choices if the kids want pizza

Well @rentayenta can confirm we DO love Grimaldi's pizza and think it's THE BEST in America, but that place will make you a pizza snob :)

I've never tried Grimaldi's -- I will have to ask Jenny about it! I know that there are some pizzas that are on the low end of the palatable scale, barely squeaking by, and then there are those that are infinitely better than others... almost blissfully good! So, all pizzas are definitely not created equal anywhere they can be found. That's for sure.

::yes:: @MommyJKM speaks the truth! It is the best west coast pizza ever! It rivaks even a good NY pizza which is saying a lot. If you ever get the chance @Sherry E you must try it. And they give a free medicum pizza for birthdays! :woohoo:

I can't eat any of the pizza in DLR! I've tried Naples (YUCK) and Pizza Port (yuck) and I just can't so it! I am spoiled though with a hometown pizza place that is the best pizza EVER! Now I have not tried Pizza Press, but have tried Blaze and that is pretty good (same concept as Pizza Press)!!

We were at PPress the month it opened and got to meet the owner. It was exciting times, opening that new restaurant, for them! He said they had worked and worked to get their dough recipe just right. This wasn't some fly by night thing for them; they really cared. They have terrific, with good ingredients, ice cream, they have bottled sodas that my son can drink (he can't have mainstream US sodas b/c corn syrup products make him insane)...they are a good place. Their pizza is on the spendy side for a thin crust pizza, but it's really good and we enjoy everything about the place.

I love a birthday freebie!

I have now decided I must try Pizza Press. I have read too many good things about it (many from you!) to not give it a shot. Pizza Press and Grimaldi's are on the list!

You mentioned you will be staying at the GCH, inside the GCH is Whitewater Snacks. They make individual pizza ( cheese or pepperoni) with a salad and choice of dressing for under $10. The salad was a nice size salad with lettuce, tomatoes, carrots, red onions, and cucumbers. Plus, if anyone in your party doesn't feel like pizza, you can get a burger, nachos, etc. Nice selection there.

In the parks, we like Boardwalk Pasta & Pizza. They have pretty good thin crust pizzas.

Um, when was the last time you visited? They have discontinued the flat bread pizzas and replaced them with regular looking pizzas that many compare to the quality and taste of Pizza Port pizza.

We enjoyed the make your own pizza at storytellers that's available as a kids meal.

I know people are mixed on Naples but we really love it. It beats any of the pizza options in the park by far. I also thought it was better than Pizza Press. Naples is quite expensive. But we got a family size pizza(very big!) for what we would have spent on a meal in the parks anyways.

We also ate there last December and not only was the price high for park food even but the pizza was pretty much not-edible bad :crazy2: I was so sad because if I'm eating out its nice to eat something fun like pizza (I try to be pretty careful with what I eat at home). Guess I know why people did like it and I hated it LOL

Looks like we will be trying Pizza Press in December- thank you everyone!!:D Guess who had to pick up a slice to treat myself to tonight after reading all this pizza talk lol
