Good or bad?????

On July 1 I decided I was going to lose weight and Slim Fast and treadmill were going to help me... At the time I was at 240 and today I got on the scale and I weighed 218... Is 22 pounds in 25 days too much?????
 
OMG! That does seem like a lot of weight. I thought one to two pounds a week was a good goal in order to keep the weight off. I do know that on Atkins people seem to lose a lot more than that.

Are you eating any solid food? How often are you on the threadmill?

How do you feel? My husband lost something like 33 pounds during his first month on Atkins. He was thrilled and he felt good. He doesn't lose that quickly now.

Are you feeling well? No weakness? Are you eating anything besides Slimfast?
 
I'm hoping that you're losing FAT and not muscle or water weight...my question is the same as TigerBear's, are you eating any solids? I'm not familiar with how SlimFast works though.
 

I have a Slim Fast drink in the morning, a normal meal at lunch and then a Slim Fast at dinner time along with a little snack, such as grapes or an apple and I feel pretty good...

In addition, I do 45 minutes on the treadmill 5-6 times a week at a pretty decent pace (I normally lose about 2-3 pounds of water weight)...

And I don't think its water weight, as I drink 3-4 glasses of water a day...
 
I'm sure that you lost at least <i>some</i> water weight during the first week, Jon. I will be curious to know if you continue to lose at this rate.

I'm also curious to know if you are going to take the WISH challenge? Please say you will, I'd love to have you in my support group. WISH is a very helpful place and the support group is the greatest bunch of <i>losers</i> you could ever hope to meet. Will you join us?

Wow Jon...thats GREAT!! It sounds like you are doing everything right...I am sure since you are exercising that you are building muscle and burning fat. I would stick with it and see what happens...

PS..I would love it for you to join WISH...we need success stories around here..they keep us all going!!!

Wow, that's a heck of a great loss!

I think as long as you are feeling good (not dizzy or tired or anything) then you should be a-ok! I don't want to say "hopefully things will slow down" because nobody wants their weight loss to slow down! I do want to add my vote for you to join WISH though! :)

Keep us posted! Aside from wondering if you are losing too much too fast, how do you FEEL about losing? Are you super excited? Besides yourself with joy? :)
 
The thing that I am the most excited about is that at 240 I actually looked fat, now that I am down in the 220 range I look thinner and feel better.... My mindset now is that if I lose a pound or two a week I will be happy with my progress...

And how exactly do I join the WISH community???? I responded to the one thread, wasn't sure if I need to do more...

I think as long as you feel ok and are getting the nutrition you need, without feeling tired or sick, then it should be fine. If you are worried abut it, maybe visit your Dr. and ask him to do a total blood work on you. It will show if there is something lacking, and check sugar, cholestoral, and more. Congrats on loosing the weight.
