good online company for price and service

I want to know if there's a good company that you order online from. I am looking at purchasing a camera body and lens (not the kit lens) and don't know who the reputable ones are with decent pricing.

I've purchased camera gear from both www.BHPhoto.com and Amazon. I purchased my camera body at B&H and would buy from again. As for Amazon you need to watch out for who is actually selling the item. A lot of what is for sale on Amazon is from 3rd party sellers.

Another place is Adorama.com. I've not used them myself, but they are up there with B&H.

I *always* go with B&H (link) and Adorama (link). I know that there are other reputable online camera stores out there, but these two are the ones that camera professionals turn to for ALL their dSLR equipment needs.

I recently had a friend ask me about another online camera store (I forget which one) which had ridiculously low prices. For example, he was looking to buy the Canon 17-55mm lens, which normally retails for about $1000. Yet this online camera store was selling it BRAND NEW for $600!!! How can that be?!?!?!

We looked at the store's Web page for this lens, and everything seemed to check out. I forget, but I think it also did mention USA warranty, too.

We went back and did a Google search for this camera store's name. The 1st hit was the camera store itself. But the 2nd - 10th hits were all online reviews WARNING us about this particular online camera store. People gave this store a 0.5 stars (that's 1/2 a star) out of 10!!! Ouch!!!

Another vote for B&H and Adorama. I have bought off both several times with no problems. I have also bought off of Buydig/Beach Camera (sister sites) with no problems. They used to be significantly cheaper than B&H, but not so much anymore. If you find a good deal from them though, they can be trusted. It holds very true with online camera sales that if the deal looks too good to be true then it is.

Yep B+H,Adorama get my vote to,I have bought from both with no problem ever.I just recently started buying from Cameta Camera and have had no problem with them either.I tryed Ritz on-line one time and never again.

B&H, Adorama and Newegg. Newegg will have some really good deals from time to time.

These are the 3 sites I am checking for a good price on my D90 body. Right now prices for the D90 are approx $50 higher than they were for the end of June. Usually around holidays demand for a new camera fluctuates and the prices vary accordingly.

I think of it like fishing. I know the reputable fishing holes (B and H etc..) where the fish are "clean" (New merchandise and with US warranties and return policies that are fair).

Now I have to wait for the right Price to bite me in the wallet before I'll spring for it. I know what the fish should be priced, where they are found and which ones to avoid because I'll get sick if I reel them in.

See? It's like fishing! Know before you blow your wad of cash.

In addition to those already listed I have used Abe's of Maine for good deals. They'll call you after you place your order to see if you need anything else (just like a cashier would in a store) but you can just say no thanks and they'll say no problem and you're done. No pressure or anything.
