has anyone stayed at Ho Jo's maingate... the one advertised for 38 bucks a night.

I am just wondering how far it actually is to the parks... i know they have transportation but how long is the ride.. and is this place a dump?

Girlfriend and I stayed there last Valentine's Day... very nice rooms, 10 minute walk to the Esplanade, not sure how long the drive is (longer by shuttle, I'm sure, since it will stop at other hotels nearby)

Yeah, that's what they call the big area that has Harbor Blvd on one side, Downtown Disney across the way, and the two parks on the other ends... it's the big open space bwteen the parks.

I think Therapeutic Smile may be talking about the Ho Jo at Disneyland, not Walt Disney World. I don't think there is a Harbor Dr near Downtown Disney at WDW. Please forgive me if I'm wrong.

I stayed at a Howard Johnson Maingate East (near Walt Disney World) in Orlando .. I'm assuming it's the same one (it's near a Subway / Pizza Hut too) .. but the place was a dump when I went, and I've now promised myself no more Ho Jos ever. We were desperate for a hotel and this was all we could find for cheap, and I would have rather spent the extra.
