Good Off-Property Hotels

For my trip, I am looking towards a nice room at Paradise Pier on-site at DLR, but I know there are many good neighbor hotels so in case we have to cut down I was wondering what are some good ones?

I will be going with my family of five, a few of which who are not huge Disney people like myself so I'm sure they will be at the hotel a lot so it needs to be nice. When we were last in WDW, we stayed in the AKV villa and while we are willingly able to downsize from that, it is just an idea of how much space we'd like. A pull-out couch or couches are always a plus along with twin beds for the rest. Pools are always a plus, but not necessary. In terms of vicinity to the parks, the closer the better. I'm not a DLR vet in anyway, more like a newbie so these may seem ridiculous, but I'm clueless to the idea of Off-Property so just any recommendation is welcome. Thank you in advanced!

My family and I just stayed at Del Sol Inn which is one right across the street from Disneyland. They gave us two rooms with a bunk beds and 2 full/queen beds. It cost us about 100$ a night and 8 $ everyday for parking. The del sol was by far the best hotel we have stayed in for our trips to Disneyland. The only thing that would have made it better was if the continental breakfasts coffee was stronger! I forgot to mention it has a pool with a hot tub too. Hope I helped!

All the nicer hotels are farther away. The closer walkable ones are mostly older motels and the cost of the close ones will be comparable to the nicer chain hotels that are further away.
It sort of comes down to priorities for off property. Close, smaller motel, or nicer hotel farther away with long walk or shuttle.
