Good news on May crowds

I just got off the phone with a Disney reservations rep, and asked her if she thought if the crowds would be larger in Mid May this year because of the celebration. She said that they still have hotel openings, and she's not predicting that this May will be any busier than the average May. I love going in May because of the lack of large crowds, and was a little nervous after reading everyone's posts on here about how busy this year is going to be. But after talking to the Disney rep, I feel much better! :cheer2:

Thanks for that info, it certainly is good news for all of us travelling there next month!!!! :earsboy:

I like the information you got much better than the info I got. I asked the same thing and the CM told be that they were sold out during May and have been for months which I know isn't true b/c you can go to their website and find hotel openings. Maybe you CM was a little more friendly than mine with their answers!

Here's hoping!!! :cheer2: 25 days and counting...

Sounds great! Thanks for the info!

I am barely clinging to my sanity now with ONLY 14 days to go!

OMG, just noticed you're from the same town as I am! How cool!

We are from Illinois too! (Near Champaign-downstate from you a little!!) We will be in Disney from May 19-24! Still a little worried about the crowds...but we will deal with it! This is our first trip with our 5 year old son!! :earsboy:

:cool1:
It looks like it is going to be an Illinois convention! We live here in central Illinois too! :earsgirl: l

I can't lie...I was a little worried when I read how many people from the board were going to be at Disney in May. Glad to hear that it won't be too bad.

DOIN MY 30 DAY DANCE!!! :cool1: :dancer: :cool1:

I know things can change quickly, BUT...my sister just got back last week, and they didn't have to wait more than 10 minutes for anything. Let's keep our fingers crossed for May. :wizard:

hey, I'm from Central Illinois (Peoria) and going in May too. How is everyone from Illinois getting to WDW? Anyone driving? We are driving for the first time and I was curious how long it takes.

I am wishing for no big crowds :wizard:

We are flying out of OHare, but my friends (who are meeting us there) are driving. We live 45 min. sw of Chicago, and it's going to take them about 22 hours of drive time to get to WDW. :earseek: I'm so glad we're flying!
