Good news on May crowds

I just got off the phone with a Disney reservations rep, and asked her if she thought if the crowds would be larger in Mid May this year because of the celebration. She said that they still have hotel openings, and she's not predicting that this May will be any busier than the average May. I love going in May because of the lack of large crowds, and was a little nervous after reading everyone's posts on here about how busy this year is going to be. But after talking to the Disney rep, I feel much better!

I like the information you got much better than the info I got. I asked the same thing and the CM told be that they were sold out during May and have been for months which I know isn't true b/c you can go to their website and find hotel openings. Maybe you CM was a little more friendly than mine with their answers!

We are from Illinois too! (Near Champaign-downstate from you a little!!) We will be in Disney from May 19-24! Still a little worried about the crowds...but we will deal with it! This is our first trip with our 5 year old son!!

I am wishing for no big crowds

We are flying out of OHare, but my friends (who are meeting us there) are driving. We live 45 min. sw of Chicago, and it's going to take them about 22 hours of drive time to get to WDW. I'm so glad we're flying!
