Good Neighbor Hotels - Disneyland

Hotel Indigo Anaheim. We stayed there last week and had a great time. Super beds and big bathrooms with free parking. It takes us 10 minutes to walk to Disneyland's front gate.

And the whole Good Neighbor Disney designation is nothing more than some local hotels, some of which are not so great, who are willing to pay Disney's fee to get the designation. It truly means nothing and Disney is doing its customers a disservice by selling its good name without applying some standards.

Agree with this. It is worth looking beyond the "Good Neighbor" designation for good hotels in the DLR area. This thread has lots of good information: www.disboards.com/threads/choosing-the-right-hotel-for-you.3656512/.

We have the Alpine Inn booked for 3 night later this month. Is this a good place to stay and how long of a walk is it to the parks. Thanks Ron.

RL has gone through a lot of changes, I think initially they put up about a dozen properties for sale to help fund the upgrades at some others hotels. Problem I've found is that RL seems very dated, and many are in need of a dramatic remodel. I'd say of the 5 I've been in over the past couple of years they all look like they are stuck in about 1983. They tried rebanding some of them as Hotel RL, but IMHO it was just lipstick on a pig. With their purchause of GuestHouse, Americas Best Value Inn and Knights Inn they have become a Midscale to Economy hotel chain, at best.

I would honestly say the RL Anaheim was a bit nicer back in 2011 when we first stayed there, but we haven't been put off of the property as of yet. It's perfectly fine for us as a place to sleep and get clean.

This is all interesting information, however.

I also want to add on to the topic of Red Lion, maybe try to request the main tower and not the South tower, as I find that the main tower is a little nicer and not along Harbor Blvd, either. We were in the South tower for the first time on our last trip and it was ok, but didn't seem as nice as the main tower (where reception is located). I am going to make this request before our next trip and see if it works.

We just stayed at The Hyatt House. Its a 10 minute walk from hotel to resort. It's on the corner of Harbor and Katella.
Rooms were clean. comes w/ complimentary breakfast buffet. Service is awesome. It's a new hotel. We paid $111 a nite via Orbitz.

We would stay again as the rooms are mini suites w/ kitchens.

I was going to stay there last January but they wanted $380 per night. I would stay there if it was less than $150. The place looks nice.

We usually stay at the Candy Cane as they let you stack discounts. We get $10 off for Annual Pass holder and $10 off for returning guest.
