Well last summer we went with Fairfield Inn and we are looking for something different. Leaning towards Park Vue Inn...what are some of your thoughts on hotels. I have read lots of older posts, just looking for some new posts. I know many like HOJOs but it's just my mom and I...no kids. We would rather not stay there. Our dates are still kinda open June or July. We will also wait to see what offers come out. Deals will also of course help too later when they come out. Thanks!

I was very happy with my stay at Best Western Park Place Inn during my trip in February, and will be staying there again in December. I loved being directly across the street from the Park's main entrance & being able to be in Disneyland in under 5 minutes. The beds were comfy and it was nice to have a fridge and microwave in the room; the free breakfast was an added bunus and helped save some $ on food. I've not stayed at the Park Vue (but it is right next to BWPPI and so would have the same walking distance to the Park), but I'm sure some other Dis-ers can give some recent reviews.

We were just researching this one too! Looks and sounds great for our needs.

Don't stay at park vue. It is dirty and the service is awful. There is a reason it is not a good neighbor hotel. :scared1:
I like the ramada Maingate. I have stayed there 5 times. Clean, comfortable and friendly. :lovestruc

I don't like the business practices of the carousel inn.

I'm looking forward to staying at the Manage. It is a little bit of a walk, but it is on the ART with only 2 other hotels so that wouldn't be bad. I toured the rooms in September and they are wonderful. They also have a great restaurant, and I heard you can see the fireworks from the hotel.

Just to clarify, to be a "Good Neighbor Hotel" you have to allow Disney to have a percentage of the rooms for a certain period of time. You cannot book them in house. And you give them a discounted rate. "Good Neighbor Hotels" have nothing to do with the quality of the room. Heck, The Jolly Roger is a GNH...

We have stayed at the Park Vue many times and always found it to be just fine. It is not fancy but definitely met our needs and has a really good breakfast (for a free one that is) and a light dinner also for free each afternoon. The last time we were there, the carpet was really dirty but they were in the process of changing all of the carpeting so probably had been neglecting it. I am not super picky, as long as the bedding and bathroom are clean, I am good to go! The location is a huge draw in my books, I love being able to see my room from the lights at the crosswalk and knowing I will have my shoes off and feet up before most are even at their motel! :thumbsup2

I just returned yesterday from Disneyland, and I booked a 4-night package at the Sheraton Park Hotel. It was my second stay there; the first time was in 2000 when it was the West Coast Anaheim. The hotel is within walking distance of the parks, and the price was less than that of some of the moderate Good Neighbor hotels.

What are you looking for in a room?

Comfy beds? Hojos, Fairfield, Carousel Inn, Hilton.

Distance? Park Vue Inn, BW Park Place

Price? Aneheim Plaza

Resort feel to the room? Carousel, Hilton

Good breakfast? Residence Inn, Hilton

I couldn't disagree with that more. We always stay at the Park Vue. It's a dated looking hotel, but they just installed brand new carpeting and in our many, many stays there we have never thought it dirty. (Well about 25 years ago it was really skeezy lol but it's totally changed since then) Their service has always been fantastic too. Any issues we have had were always immediately rectified, and you always see the manager talking to people making sure everything is great for their guests.

If you look at tripadvisor.com you will see a lot of recent reviews. At the bottom of each review there is generally a comment made by one of the managers. If people have concerns he notes in the comment what is being done to rectify it. I would strongly suggest that anyone who has had a recent problem with them post on there as management does review it.

I would agree with your disagreement. We were there for 6 days at the end of July early August and had a wonderful stay. Rooms were very clean, beds ok-I never like hotel beds or pillows (except GCH pillows), and food was hot for breakfast.

You cannot beat walking distance, right across the street.

I wanted to stay at the BWPPI on my upcoming trip this Oct 26th. But ended staying at HOJO as per most of the forums recommendation.

BWPPI rates were higher than HOJO and was willing to to pay a premium to be closer to the park but BWPPI charges $8 per day for parking and I'm staying 8 days there so that kinda was a deal breaker for the BWPPI.

Just my 2 cents.

My family & I stay at the Park Vue Inn several times a year & have never had a problem.

Yes, the rooms aren't brand new, but they are clean and most important of all close. You can't get much closer in terms of walking to the parks.

The staff is always friendly, and I always have a basket of fruit and wine in my room when I check in. Oh and the parking is free.
