Good Movie Suggestions!

It isn't terribly new but we just watched Bridget Jones's Diary and I really liked it. That Colin Firth is really cute (in his own special way). I liked it so much I might just buy it.

See "Gods and Generals", it is a long movie :( I would read the book by Jeff Shaara first. Take this with a grain of salt though because I have not seen it yet, but after I read the book me and my parents will definately see the movie.

I have read one of Michael (?) Shaara's book, and that was really good read. His son's book should be really good too. I have no doubt that Gods and Generals will be my second favourite movie (behind Gone With the Wind-another LONG film) of all time.

Right now the only movies I'm seeing are the five contenders for the Best Film Oscar. I have high expectations for the Pianist and I still want to see Gangs of NY. I highly recommend seeing Chicago-it is a great musical.

The other movie I would like to see is About Schimdt.

For Romance you cannot beat Gone With the Wind! Why? The King Clark Gable (the sexiest man ever) of course! Bascialy, any film with Clark Gable will be romantic because of him ;)

Horror: Okay, I'm an 80's brat-I still love the Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th movies! I still haven't seen the Scream movies yet.

Musicals: anything from Rodgers and Hammerstein, Chicago

Ohhhhhhh do you mean movies in the theatre? HAHA What is a movie theatre? I forgot what those were. ;) We JUST saw LoTR Two Towers and I can't even remember what we saw before that. Can't help you on the theatre scene but we love our rentals. ;)

Fried Green Tomatos
Moonstruck
Sling Blade

Nope, I meant Rentals! I'm a true heart romantic so the happier and mushier the better for me.

I actually own Gone with the Wind...LOL! My DH likes to say I act a lot like Scarlett (should I be insulted or take that as a great compliment??)

I actually just realized we have never watched Lilo and Stitch and my mom hasn't seen Sweet Home Alabama and we still have Kate and Leopold that I would love to watch again so we might do that.

Romances: Roman Holiday, any Clark Gable film ;)
I have seen Sweet Home Alabama twice and I loved it. Basically any of the old Hollywood romance movies with the old stars like Audrey Hepburn, The King, Liz Taylor, Carole Lombard, etc. are good.

Drama: Wild Strawberries is excellant. It makes you think.

Musicals: again, R&H-especially Carosel (sp?)

I haven't seen Lilo and Stich  , it really does not appeal to me, but I'll buy it anyway to keep my Disney movie collection up to date. I still want to see Kate and Leopold.

I would take what your DH says as a compliment! Fiddle-dee-dee!!:D

I just rented About A Boy (I had seen it in the theatre and loved it) and Unfaithful. Both were excellent. About A Boy is a comedy/romance, Unfaithful a mystery.

I've been in the sappy romance mood lately so I watched
Sweet Home Alabama....I loved it!
Kate and Leo is cute...It is soooooooooo romantic! (he'd be perfect in a romance novel)
I always like the old stand bys...While you were sleeping and Have you got mail....
Everafter is a cute one too.

I really like the old movies too and have a big list of those

One of my all time favorites is "Dead Again" its an romance and a mystery. Find it in the Drama Favorites Section. (Not against the wall)

About a Boy. Probably the best comedy of last year. Pretty smart writing.

My Big Fat Greek Wedding was a kick!

If you can find it!

I would love to see About a Boy and Sweet Home Alabama--there just never at the store when I want to rent them:rolleyes:

Signs:creepy but very good

Serving Sara:cute in a kooky way

Someone Like You:cute romantic comedy

Recent ones I've rented:

Unfaithful - Loved it.

One Hour Photo - Liked it.

Carousel - Loved it. An oldie but still alot of fun. :D

Schindler's List - Loved it, but you have to be in the right mood to watch this one. It makes me cry.
