Just a few questions. Has anyone ever done this Grand gathering breakfast at Magic Kingdom? If so, how was the food? What did they serve? And did you feel it was worth it?

We went in December and loved it so much we're going again in September. It was one of our favorite meals of our trip. The food was your regular breakfast fare brought out family style and all you can eat. There was waffles, eggs, sausage, potatoes, coffee and juice. The food was actually really good. The best part was the characters including Tony coming out to sing. It's totally worth it. Also get there a little early to get into MK. We got some great pictures of the castle with no one around.

We just did this 2 weeks ago. They served...scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, Mickey waffles, breakfast potato casserole, and a basket of danish. For drinks there was orange juice, apple juice, milk and coffee. The characters were Daisy, Donald, Goofy, Minnie and Mickey. "Tony" gets the "Show" started by singing and then the characters come out. They announce birthdays and special daysThe restaurant is small as they only use the inner portion of the restaurant for the gathering. Mickey does not go from table to table. Your family is invitied to go up to Mickey one family at a time (in the order you came into the restaurant) to have photos taken. There is a photopass photographer there to take photos. The food was good, I like Crystal Palace better. The children loved the characters. The biggest disappointment we had was we had booked this as a Grand Gathering for 9 of us. When we arrived we were NOT seated together. We were split up so on our last day with my family we didnt get to eat our last meal together. When I voiced my disappointment I was told that you are pre-seated before you arrive so we could not be changed. As I said food was "okay" the children loved the characters and it was nice to have them come around to see the children. It was very relaxed, and in a nice small restaurant. Everyone is given a pin from Tony so that was a nice touch too. I would probably do it again becasue it was a great chance for the children to meet Mickey without having to wait in line and be rushed. If you are looking for a character breakfast and you are not fussy about if it is Mickey I would go to Crystal Palace. Weliked the food much better but the characters didnt spend as much time with the children.

Wow!! Thanks for such speedy responses! IT sounds like it was a nice breakfast. I like the sounds of the menu.

We love Crystal Palace, but I thought this would be a nice change for we are coming as a group of 8 this trip. It does concern me that you all were not seated together. Is there any way to avoid that? You would think being a GG they would know to seat you together!

Did they have you all go Mickey's Philharmagic afterwards?

We did this in November, we had a party of 12 made up of friends and their families. We all agreed we would NEVER do this again. We loved the location and atmosphere, but the food was nothing to write home about and was cold, the service was bad, and only the people who were at the very front of the table got to take pictures with the characters before they left, so out of 12 people, only 3 got to take pictures with them. The only saving grace was the picture with Mickey at the end, & the pin they give you so you can jump in the fastpass line for Philharmagic. Totally didn't think it was worth it for the money we spent. We also did the wishes fireworks cruise, and absolutely loved it

I would make sure when you call you make sure you tell them you want to be seated all together. There were tables of 4, 6 , 8 even 14 so they can seat you with your party. Make sure you tell them you HAVE to sit with ypur group. I was told that they pre-assign you a table before you arrive so once you are there they will not change you. We didnt go to Mickey's Philharmagic. That was not included. Just the breakfast, characters and pin.

How long was the cruise and what made it so special?

We all agreed that it was fun. and a good value for the money we spent. When we got there, there was a dessert selection, but it was mostly cotton candy, gold fish, and candy quick snacks kinda stuff, but it was fun b/c they had Mr. Smee and Captin Hook so we could all take pictures. They were great and we had great interaction with them, they were too funny.

I don't remember exactly how long it was, but it was long enough for us to see the Electric water parade, we rode around the lake, and our Pirate sang songs, then we stopped right in front of Magic Kingdom to watch the fireworks with the music piped in for us.

After the fireworks, we had a trivia game and winner got prizes, I won a pirate goblet:rotfl:

then he told the story of Peter pan, we docked just in time to see Peter arrive to take pictures with everyone.

it was a lot of fun, and I would do it again in a heartbeat

That sounds like a lot of fun!:thumbsup2 I might have to check into this one. How many people were on the boat with all of you? Was it crowded or did you have a lot of room?

There were a lot of people on the boat, but there was more then enough room for everyone to sit comfortably, if I had to guess, I would say there were about 40 people on each boat, plus our pirate, and the captin.

In December our tables were back to back. There was 14 of us and we could all talk to each other just fine. We were seated to the left of the big middle section. There were big tables with like 15 or more behind us. All the characters came around and took tons of pictures with each table. For Mickey they did call every family up one at a time to do pictures. We had 3 separate families in our big group and each family got a picture plus a big group one with Mickey.

The Mickey's Philharmonic was fastpasses given to us at the end of the meal by our waiter.

Also you can get coke or iced tea for your beverage. We had a couple in our group get these drinks instead of coffee.

what is the Wishes Cruise? Is it only for larger groups or can anyone book this and how do you go about booking this and what is the cost? Thanks.
