We are headed out the door in about 10 minutes. Kind of like Home alone..... The alarm was set but not turned on. Yikes. Kind of like marathon morning. You will set your alarms but frankly, you will not need them. You are ready. It is yours for the taking. Just trust your training. Good, bad or ugly... it will carry you through the race.

First timers. LIVE the day. You only have one first and all I can offer now is be in the day. Have eyes wide open, not from fear but just so that 16 years later you will still recall the sites, sounds and smells of the day.

The race is just like walking to the mail box. One foot in front of the other. If your run demons come out during the race, just pull one of the many mental games out of the quiver of tools and work around the negative thoughts. Most issues you will have this weekend start in between the ears and really go no further.

Good Luck, Safe Travels and let the stories begin

That is such great advice! I will definitely be taking it to heart! I got my mp3 player all set and ready to go. So ready to go and get the race started! (warm up tomorrow with the 5k!) I just want to go running now as the excitement builds!! :-) But will save all that adrenaline for tomorrow!

I'm also heading out the door:thumbsup2 I wanted to thank you for all the advice you offered. It is my first Disney full marathon and like any other marathon I can't stop thinking I won't finish or that my heal spur is going to act up, so many if's. Your right, I'm going to live in the day and take it all in, do my best and finish that race :) I'm just dreaming of that Mickey medal.

Safe travels my friend.

Thank you for all the advice, Coach! I'd started over the past few days to psych myself out, and it helps to remember what you've said here. Now if I could just write it on my arm with a Sharpie or something... :lmao:

Good luck & safe travels to you and all the other WISHers heading down!

Same here. I hope to meet as many of you as possible. If you run into me Sunday afternoon or later I will be in the Homer Simpson hat.

Thanks coach! I have a wish bondiband to wear for the half if anyone wants to stop and say hello. :thumbsup2

Thanks for all your support coach! I will be wearing my Wish shirt and will be the Chip leg (runner #1) for the relay marathon. Can't wait to get on the airplane tomorrow morning. Arrive time in Orlando should be 10:45am....then on to the Expo.
Happy Racing Everyone!
Pam

Thank you for all of your great advice and words of wisdom, Coach, and to everyone else who has also shared their lessons learned and words of encouragement.

Good luck runners! Embrace the weekend! And please report back after the race weekend because I'm sure you will have some good stories to tell. If I see any Wishers in their "green" I will stop by and say hello.

good luck! so excited for you all but especially the first-time marathoners. there's nothing like your first. whether you are looking to go sub 3/4/5 or just finish with a smile on your face ahead of the sweepers, you are all going to rock. can't wait to hear all the race reports!

Good luck. Getting on my flight first thing in the morning. Looking forward to this weekend!
