Hello all. I have been lurking on the camping board for a while. I used to always go to the Fort when I was a kid with my parents and really miss it. But since I do not have an RV/Pop-up, or a tent even, I will not be back at the fort for a while :(

But I just wanted to let everyone know I still love the Fort and miss it a lot. I will be back one day. Just have to get enough saved up to get Damon Motor Coach toy hauler. Gotta have a toy hauler cause I have motorcycles :).

But anyways. The reason I'm here is to ask are there good loops to go view for Christmas decorations? I have set aside time on 12/5/09 for this. Maybe more later in the trip as well.

We noticed that the loops near the marina, 300, 700, and that area had a lot of Christmas setup when we were there. There seems to be decorations everywhere.

Last year the 'over-acheivers' (as I like to call them) were in the high 700's, on 100 near the path to the Trading Post, one amazing animated display on 500, and the huge walk-through on 1600. The only one that is not a Fort regular year after year is the guy in 500... but I suspect he too will find a spot and settle in!

As far as not being able to do the Fort because you can't afford your Damon, it's just not true! You can get a cabin, but that can be pricey. Or you can rent a very nice, large 5th wheel trailer from CampAtTheFort.com... they deliver it and set it up for you, you just show up (perhaps on those motorcycles!) and enjoy the camping lifestyle. If that's too big/too expensive, you could rent a pop-up from MakeCampingEasy.com... they too deliver and set-up for you. There are lots of ways to stay at the Fort without dropping $200K on a toy-hauler!

Thanks Shan-man great information. I will have to check out the options you listed. I know about the cabins, but they are usually above my price range that I can afford at this time. Come on Powerball.... :rotfl:
