I currently have a Maclaren Quest, but I do not like it and I don't want to take it on our next Disney trip. I hate the small basket underneath and the fact that it is very tippy. Any suggetions for a replacement? I've heard good things about the Joovy Kooper, but then again I've also heard good things about the Maclaren and that's why I bought it. Any thoughts? TIA

I'm so glad you asked this question. I was just searching for suggestions on a good lightweight stroller. I bought a very nice sit and stand stroller, but I just "test drove" it at our local state fair and it was a MONSTER to handle in high traffic areas, heavy, and generally difficult.

I recently purchased a no-frills stroller from Babies R Us; not the complete cheapie but a $35 stroller that has a tray on front, two cup holders at the back, a basket underneath. It wheels fine and has the storage I want/need. I used a coupon so I paid less than $30 for it and I am taking it to Disney. It will serve the purpose I need it to but if it gets beat up or lost, I'm not out a fortune.

For home, I have a Chicco stroller. I like the all-wheel mobility of it and it is lightweight. I can fold it up one handed and it also has good storage. I believe that stroller was approx. $99 (shower gift).

Hope this helps!

I love my Peg Perego P3, not tippy at all, very lightweigh and folds down to umbrella-stroller size with a full recline and generous sun shade, but they're pricey. I'd never have bought it myself had I not come across it at a mom-to-mom sale.

I have one Combi stroller for each of my kids, and to me, this is much easier than a double. I will admit that I do not like the baskets on the Combi Strollers but they fold up and have a carry strap for the back. It makes using the transportation at WDW so much easier. Good luck!

I love, love , love..did I mention LOVE..my joovy Kooper!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:hippie:

It is the best stroller I have ever had..am so glad I purchased it. I have an almost 3.5 DD who is ~35lbs. She loves riding in a stroller, and she was outgrowing her Graco. Everyone kept recommending the Mac's..and while I did want to move down to a lightweight stroller, I still wanted the advantages of the big ones. Here is what I love about the Kooper.....

**Very ROOMY..my daughter has a ton of room, it is nice and wide for her adn she has plenty of head and leg room.
**Terrific sunshade...one of hte best I have seen, it shades the whole top half of her body
**It has two mesh pockets in the sides of her seat, for her sippy cup or snack baggie or whatever treasures she puts in there. At first I thought I really needed a belly bar for her so she could have a drink holder and a snack tray, but she likes the ability to getin and out by herself without the hinderence of a belly bar..and since she is older, she prefers her little 'secret' pouches.
**Storage..not the largest, but large enough to hold my purse or backpack or jackets
**cup holders for me..it has two pouches for me to put drinks in..I wouldnt trust these with fountain sodas, but bottles are fine
**really nice high handles...the graco hurt my back to push..but this one handles really nice and turns on a dime...
**folds us compact, althought larger than an umbrella, much smaller than a graco
I could go on and on...I love this stroller and anyone who has a kooper will tell you the same. We liked it so much, we bought one for my 3yo neice also.

Good LUck!!

Is the Joovy tippy? I hate how tippy my Maclaren is.

Just an FYI....I have a Mac Quest also that I love....but also hated the tippiness. I bought ankle/wrist weights at Walmart and put those on the front two wheels....no more tipping and it still folds up just fine and doesn't add much weight at all. Just a thought in case the tippiness was the main reason you were looking at another one but would rather not spend the money.

we have had the strollers for quite a while now and it has only tipped once..and that was my fault as I had the handles overloaded with bags in the airport.

We have a Chicco Capri stroller and love it. I can hang my big diaper bag on it and have no problems. My toddler never complains about anything with the stroller and we've never had dislikes about the basket under it. It comes with a zipper case that has a strap which is very convenient for airline travel. We've been using it for over 3 years now and it has very little wear and tear.

Another vote for the Joovy Kooper! Absolutely LOVE this stroller! Pregnant with my 4th and we just bought a new one to use for him!

I have a Maclaren and absolutely hate it! Tips constantly and I find it very hard to push with a kid much over 25 pounds.

The Joovy only weighs 3 more pounds than the Maclaren. So still super light weight. And with those 3 pounds... you get a MUCH better sturdier stroller!

I bought mine on amazon for $120 with free shipping. So keep an eye out for good sales on there.

You could try a Baby Jogger City Mini. It handles really well, has a great recline, fantastic shade, easy fold, and doesn't tip.

It's the same stroller in the sponsor ad for Orlando Stroller Rentals.

Baby Jogger!!! We have had Maclaren's, Peg Peregos, Combis & the BJ is the best by far. I have the City Classic because I wanted a higher weight limit as I purchased it when my dd was older, but the City Mini is Great!

i have a zooper twist that i really like. it is an umbrella fold, extra large canopy, lots of storage, tall handles, not tippy.

Another BIG Joovy Kooper fan!:thumbsup2

We had to buy a stroller for our daughter for our trip in August. She had fractured her ankle and was going to need a stroller to use as a wheelchair. She was 5 at the time. We tested out a few strollers in the store since it had been at 2 years since she needed one. We loved the Kooper.
It was not tippy at all. It rides smoothly and steers like a dream. The sunshade is huge and great for all day in the parks. My daughter was very comfy all week. The basket was great for what we brought to the parks. My daughter loved hiding whatever treasures she got in the parks in the mesh pockets in her seat. It folds easily and was very easy to get on and off the buses. We got it in red and I love the color!
Since we have no need for a stroller, we sold it on Ebay when we got home. We are not having anymore kids and I was still sad to see it go.;)

Big thumbs up for the Kooper!

Yet another Joovy Kooper fan! We have one that we use all the time for our 2 year old and we also bought a second for our 6 year old for our upcoming Disney trip. Even with the 6 year old in it, it pushes like a dream! And it's not tippie at all...zero! Very well balanced and just an extremely well made stroller.
