We are planning a trip to San Diego and are planning to go to the zoo, the wild animal park, and visit family in Lakeside. Looking for someplace centrally located in those areas, possibly around El Cajon or San Diego.

I haven't been down there in a while and am not sure where the good & bad areas are. Want to stay in a relatively safe area. Fill me in on the good, the bad, and the ugly. :thumbsup2

Thanks!

I would second the recommendation for Hotel Circle. It is very centrally located and there are many options in all price ranges. El Cajon does not have that kind of variety.
