Never been to SeaWorld before, taking family to san Diego in early February 2008. Need some advice on hotels near Seaworld, hotels with kid suites would be great! Also what days are crowded, is it similiar to Disneylands busy times.
We stayed at the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay last July and really liked it. I don't know about kid's suites since it was just DH and I but we did get a complimentary upgrade to a suite that I'm assuming had some sort of sofa bed in the living room area. We got the hotel off of Hotwire. Even though you don't know which hotel you are getting until you get the reservations, I figured out based on the amenities that we were most likely getting the Hyatt so i didn't feel like i was taking a risk. One of the neat things about staying at the Hyatt was that they have a water taxi to take you over to Sea World (costs extra though - i think $5 a peson for round trip). The boat drops you off at a "secret" back entrance that is only for the Hyatt guests using the taxi. It probably took longer to ride a boat over than just drive over but it was fun and we didn't have to worry about parking. Oh and the Hyatt had a nice looking pool that had a slide but we didn't get a chance to use it. No complimentary breakfast though which is something I always like but there was a refrigerator in our room.
We stayed at the Residence Inn Hotel Circle and really liked it. Had plenty of room. Have also stayed at the Comfort Inn & it was pretty decent. I also like the Catamaran, which is right on the water.
