Good flight prices from STL to MCO???

Hi all. We will be moving from the DC area to St. Louis before our next Disney trip (Decemeber...so far away....). I know what to expect from here as far as flight costs, but I'm not sure about what is a decent price from STL.

I do recognize that the cost will be more, but I'm hoping someone can tell me what is "normal" so that when I see a good price, I can get the tickets. Thanks in advance!!

Currently St. Louis flights are costing 300+ - normally you can get 225-250. However, Southwest runs deals where you can get under 200, but you will need to be flexible with dates and wait until under about 3 months. Allegiant air (which I will be flying on in October to MNSSHP) on the Illinois side of the river in Belleville is running the best deals currently, but they are only flying on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

St. Louis used to have great deals when TWA was there, but when American bought them out, the deals became fewer and fewer. You can still find them, but you will need to be patient.

Thanks! I knew that they were a bit over 300 right now, but was just wondering from those who were experienced in that area if that was as good as it was going to get or not.

We usually fly from St. Louis for under $70 each way on SWA. AA was offering $65 each way but there weren't many direct flights.

cuppycake...not sure exactly where you will be relocating to, but there are other options. Of course the biggest airport is STL (Lambert Airport), which has the most options for flights to MCO. As DisneyDadof3 said, there is Aliegent Airlines, based at the MidAmerica Airport (right next to Scott Air Force Base), but as he also mentioned it does have limited service and actually flies into Sanford I believe. Another possibility, depending upon where you will be located, is Bloomington, Illinois. It is about 2 hours from St. Louis and AirTrans flies out of there. I think there might be other airline options with Bloomington, but not sure.

I actually live about 2.5 hours southeast of STL, only 15 mins. from the intersection of Interstates 57 and 24 in southern Illinois, so I even look at Nashville, TN, Evansville, IN as viable flight options if the price is right.

So, depending on your relocation, there might be a few options for your flights to MCO. And may I be the first to welcome you to the midwest...St. Louis has so many great offerings for families...the City Museum, the St. Louis Zoo, the Magic House, Science Center, Purina Farms, the Arch and the great museum under it...so many neat things!

We went back in Sept. and got a great deal with Southwest for $59 each way. I know you said you wanted normal prices, but I thought it might help.

And welcome to the St. Louis area!! We live about 1&1/2 hours away so we go there often. I hope you enjoy you're move!

Hello,

My family and I have flown Alligiant Air several times from a couple of midwest airports; I know they did fly out of Mid America Airport, on the Illinois side of the STL metro area. We usually pay about $99 each way--no frills but on time and good customer service. They fly all MD-80's, nice size plane and are direct to Sanford, on the north side of the Orlando metro area, about 45 minutes from the main gate.

HI! I live in a suburb of STL - about 20 miles west of downtown. We just flew to Disney last week, but we used expedia for our hotel + airfare. It is HARD to get good deals out of STL now that TWA is gone! At least SWA is still around.

What part of STL are you moving to? Welcome to the area!

Currently $339 or more out of St. Louis. Even Southwest is right at that number. Allegiant out of Mid-America is a bit cheaper (alot if you can do Wed to Wed. - $200).
