I posted this on the other board, but didn't get any responses-thought I'd try here...

I need help "building my library" :)

What are you favorite books on Disney secrets, Imagineering, history, ride construction, things that would be fun to know if you're taking a slow-down kind of approach to park touring??

Thanks for any recommendations!

The Imagineering Field Guides on the Magic Kingdom, Epcot & DAK are really cool. They offer insight from the imagineers themselves as these parks were being built, like sketches, prototypes etc. They explain problems that arose when the parks were built and how they corrected or worked around them. There is not one published for DHS yet.

They are not large books, thin and narrow, great for your carry on!

They have a great book on the ride PoC. They start with the very beginning and go through the development of the ride in all the parks. Pretty cool:thumbsup2

I've started building up my Disney Library as well. I go to The Art of Disney when I'm in WDW and they have a great selection of Books. Some deal more with animation and such rather than the imagineering part. Last time I bought a great book talking about the Disney cartoon strips that were published in Good Housekeeping Magazine 60+ years ago(they included every strip during the run). They have books there you can't find anywhere else.
