Good Deals on Coach Purses?

My family will be visiting my in-laws in Europe in a few months and I'm trying to think of some nice, American-made gifts/hostess gifts. I thought DH's college/high school age nieces might like a Coach wristlet, but holy cow, those things are expensive! Has anyone found good deals on Coach stuff? There is an outlet about 45 miles away, but I don't want to make the trip for nothing - has anyone found good markdowns there?

I know my friends and I have found some great deals at the coach outlets, but it can be hit or miss with them. The prices are usually pretty decent, too, compared to normal prices.

The outlets are awesome! You can probably get a Coach wristlet for around $30 or less. I just got an awesome mid-size leather shoulder bag for $94.

Go to http://www.coachfactory.com and sign up for emails. They will send you coupons for the outlet store and invites for online sales. I got a wristlet for $27 before Christmas.

I was at the local Coach outlet this past weekend. They had an additional 30% off everyone in the store. There were a ton of choices for wristlets well under $30. It might be worth it to call ahead before you make the drive to see if they are offering anything like that.

This. My outlet has the extra 30% off almost all the time. Just call before you go and they should be able to tell if it's going on.

Just be aware that some of the stuff at the outlet is specifically made for the outlet. Personally, if I like something, I really don't care that's it's not technically a part of their signature "line". Or, if I find something I like at a price I'm willing to pay, I don't really care that it was never intended to be sold at it's "original" price. But other people do

I agree I just went there and the small wristlets were $29 and they had some that were a little bigger for $39. I got a small purse and a small wristlet for $88 including tax. They had the 30% off. I got them both for less than what they were selling the purse for $89 regular $158. I would defintley go to the outlet. Hopefully you will find what you are looking for at the price you are looking for.

American made? I'm fairly sure that all of my Coach bags were made in China. I'd have to double check the tags though.

I have gotten a few awesome deals 70% or better) at Dillard's, which is not one of my favorite stores, I scored a gold signature coach poppy tote for $79 regular price was close to $300. Another time I found a distressed antique gold leather cross body satchel for $179, list was $369. My local Dillard's always has some stuff on markdown.

Outlet would be your best option, IMO.
Whenever I'm in San Antonio, which is about once a year, there has almost always been the same sale, which was like 50% off a large selection, then when entering, they would give a slip for an additional 30% off. When I went earlier this year, I picked up a nice, medium size cross-body bag for 80$.
I don't know about the one you're talking about, though. It varies I guess.

I agree. I'm not too fond of the selection, picked over-ish-ness, and the CHAOS of the Outlet - at all!

I get mine at department stores, as well - Von Maur, Lord & Taylor.... when they go on sale, they're marked down *extremely* well.
