Good deal on Disney tickets through Orbitz

Has anyone seen their cashback from ebates yet? I would love to see that it worked for someone first just to be sure. It looks like we could save $100-130 depending on what we decide about water parks. Also we aren't sure if we want 5 or 6 day tickets yet. It looks like the best thing would be for us to buy 5 day, and then upgrade to 6 day if we decide we want it, right? If we do that, will we get the value of a 5 day ticket at the time we go (October-I hear prices are going up in April)?

I've used Ebates for a while. It takes a few weeks to get the money back. They deposit it in your Paypal account.

I wish I could feel good about taking advantage of this deal. I too am worried about how discounted ticket vouchers will affect FP+ when we visit in December!

Just an FYI, i have used Ebates for a year and it almost ALWAYS take 30 days for my cash back to post to my account. I have always received it though but sometimes I have to email Ebates and request it. It's very easy to do though!

Yes, the Orbitz website states that the tickets can be upgraded at the ticket window.

I wonder if by adding days your adding based on starting with a 3 day tix or a 5 day tix?

Actually I just went back and checked. We have a package under the spring promo and with that, the 5 day base tix are 1249 + ~$84 in tax. With Orbitz they are $1263 inc. tax. Going through ebates you would get an addt'l 10.5% off making them a little less than $1136. So saving about $197. This is for 3 adult tix and 2 kid tix.

Are there dates on the voucher? If not, does the voucher have an expiration date? Does the voucher say it is a 5 day ticket? We are going in October, but I will be in Orlando in April for business. Could I go to guest relations in Downtown Disney and exchange the vouchers for actual tickets?

For anyone familiar with ebates - have you had problems getting your money - i.e. were you expecting an ebate and didn't get it for some reason?

Ebates isn't the primary cash back site that I use, but I have used them pretty frequently over the years. I have never had a problem receiving my cash back and then my 'big fat check'! Like a PP said, I would imagine that if I did not receive my cash back for some reason, that their CS would be helpful in making sure that it did eventually credit like it should. I use Mr. Rebates primarily and have had to file a few inquiries into cash back that didn't post initially and they have always made sure that I did get it eventually. I would imagine that the process would be very similar with Ebates.

The dates of the trip that you put in are on the voucher -- it says "Valid only X thru X".

I don't know if that means you can't get the tickets beforehand, but either way it says you can ONLY pick up tickets at WILL CALL at a PARK. Not Downtown Disney or TTC. FYI.

I just tried it yesterday myself b/c it was cheaper than undercover tourist's best prices for us. We were able to get the 3 days get 2 free with waterparks and more plus the 10.5% back. Really a great deal.

I posted earlier about this but I've used Ebates for any purchase I could for the last year. Many times I get more back from them than from credit card rewards so I use Ebates a lot. Anyway, never had a problem getting my money but sometimes, I do have to ask them for my money. There is a form on their website to do so and it's very easy.

It does say on Orbitz that they are upgradeable so I think that's how it should work. I just get nervous whenever I upgrading that involves discount tickets. I get paranoid that I'm not as clever as I think and going to end up paying more.

Can you actually get a check from ebates, or do you have to have it posted to paypal? Also want to know if these will be upgradable to annual pass. I don't see why they wouldn't be? Would also use them first, to get the bridged value, right? It will save us about $140. That's a lot of mickey bars!

You can get a check mailed to you (free postage), posted to Paypal, or you can donate the money. They pay out the money once a quarter. So, purchases made today may take up to 30 days to post and payout will be mid-April (I think).
