I had a customer that I went out of my way to help Friday (I did quite a bit of extra work for him.) He was so happy with what I did that he said he was going to send me a small gift. I told him it wasn't necessary but it got here today, anyway. It's a big gift basket with gourmet foods from a place called Cookie Zoo in Vegas (where the customer is.) It has everything from cookies (of course) to chocolate covered pecans to salsa chips to vanilla cranberry peanut butter. I had some vanilla chai (I had never had chai before.....it was to die for) and a Ghirardelli Raspberry chocolate square with my lunch today (the woman who works in Accounts Receivable and called me to let me know I had a package told me she saw the shipping tag and the shipping alone was $29.....I didn't even think about cost...just how good everything is.) I guess it definitely can sometimes pay off to give the best customer service you possibly can. Most of all, it made me feel appreciated.

How lovely! Giving really good customer service always made me feel good, but it's nice when it tastes good too! I used to have a customer who always brought us a plate of baklava whenever she made it for church or family functions. Oh yum!

Aww! That's good news!

Mine is that the 7th grader who felt ill in my class made it to the next class before they threw up...on the teacher...:scared1:

Kath, now that was good luck :)
Yeah, it is always nice to know you're appreciated....and to have it be something that you can savor and enjoy for a while is really nice. I'm being very sparing with my treats. I did give away my licorice to someone who likes it, but other than that I'm being just a little selfish and enjoying my treats myself.
