Good Cold Friday Morning

Good morning everyone!!

When I left for work this morning it was 23 here. We are heading to the upper 30s today but very windy. Don't worry too much since we will be 60 tomorrow. LOL and about a week ago we were in the 70s. This weather is going to make everyone sick.


Anyways... does anyone have any great plans for the weekend? I've been a slacker and still haven't gotten all the Christmas put away so thats first on my list when I get home today.

I am not complaining but it's cold (for us)here too!

I am spending the weekend getting ready for our big Miss America party Mondy night! I am heading to Party City this morning to pick up the paper goods. And then waiting for Best Buy to deliver our new TV. DH ordered a 56" TV just in time for the pageant!

I didn't even realize it was Monday night. I love to watch the pagents. Hmm looks like I know what I'll be doing on Monday. LOL

It's cold here too! A whopping.. 22 right now.. a high of 30.. and uhm, no relief in sight! Someone down south, point the sun in our direction please!!!

As for the weekend.. basketball games on Sunday, book report tomorrow and of course weekend errands..but I may try to do the errands tonight! Haircuts for the boys are a MUST!!!!

Good morning to you all! It's cold here too but no promises of 60 degrees tomorrow.

Tonight I'm going to see Dreamgirls with a friend. The rest of the weekend is "home" work.

My dh painted the bathroom this week with the paint I bought last summer for it. It took him a while to get to it So this weekend, I'm accessorizing the bath. I need new rugs, towels, and a curtain. Unfortunately, while I thought I loved the color on the sample, it's a bit more vibrant than I thought. The look was supposed to be "spa" and I don't think it works.

We're also having my mil over for dinner as she's having knee replacement surgery on Monday. So that answers my Monday question too - I'll be at the hospital after work and my dh will have been there all day - no pageant for me

Well, it is super cold here. My DH said it was the coldest he'd ever felt. My DD ruptured her eardrum overnight, so I'm going back (again) to the doctor. Lovely. DS has a dodgeball birthday party tonight. Just what I want to do on a Friday. Nothing for me. Maybe I'll work on my remaining ABCs. We'll see. I'll need a vacation after today!

Well, it is super cold here. My DH said it was the coldest he'd ever felt. My DD ruptured her eardrum overnight, so I'm going back (again) to the doctor. Lovely. DS has a dodgeball birthday party tonight. Just what I want to do on a Friday. Nothing for me. Maybe I'll work on my remaining ABCs. We'll see. I'll need a vacation after today!

Poor DD.. DS10 had that happen.... we were looking at houses...and I noticed some leakage.. rushed him to the urgent care.. I felt awful..started crying.. the dr. reassured me.. it happens and it wasn't my fault... but I still felt horrible... I told DH to house hunt.. let me know the top 3 and I would decide later... I sure hope your DD is feeling better today...

Dodgeball birthday party.. well, that sounds neat.. but with my boys.. someone would be hurt... I wish they could understand that they don't have to go full force.. even playing in the backyard.. and it only takes once of them full forcing the ball at me..and than momma gets dirty!

Hey all! I just got back from lunch, and after about 4 blocks, my fingers were numb! It is cold and very windy. I think we are supposed to warm up tomorrow, but then have sleet and snow on Sunday. FUN!

We are going to my mom's tomorrow and I am going for a haircut. Then Sunday is church - I started back in choir - and working on some tax returns I am freelancing.

It is cold here in South Florida today too. It was between 40-50 this morning although by recess I think it was close to 60. We were all bundled uip in winter coats.

Well, the doctor has said DD has a double ear infection. So, she is resting on the couch watching a movie. I was supposed to help in DS's class today, but I didn't go in.

It started out a 8 degrees here and it is now a balmy 20. But, if you add the windchill in...

I'm going in to help with 100 day at school on Monday.. DH is working from home to help w/ the other kids...
A balmy 20.. ugh! I feel for ya.. It's picking up in the wind department now..and they are calling for maybe one inch of the icky stuff tonight.. I sure hope not.. I need to run errands!!!!

Our 100th day is on the 5th. Good thing we'll be here for that (and not in WDW). DS's teacher has all sorts of cool things planned. We even have to bring in 100 of 1 item idea: I wonder if Mickey head confetti would work??) and 100 pieces of small food. I know I never did fun stuff like that in elementary school!

Today I woke and it was 4. With windchill it was unthinkable. Today we are looking at a high of 14 with a windchill of a -20 I am ready for winter to be over

I'm sorry DD is feeling unwell , but am I allowed to be glad that is happened now and not while you were in FL and having to look for doctors & a pharmacy that will take your insurance? I will keep her in our thoughts that she has a full recovery before vacation time.

I hear ya! WE even had the plastic bags of milk that reminded you of a pillow that you had to punch your straw through and hope you didn't spew milk all over yourself or the kid next to you! OMG!

We have to send 100 of an item too.. We are sending in candy hearts!!! DS has been eyeing them for weeks!! So, we are going to use it as a teaching assignment this week.. he must count the 100 candies.. He can count to 500 already..but we will make him count them by 1's than by groups of 5 and 10 to make sure he comes up w/ 100 each time! (I know.. mean mommy even educating on weekends!)

I know our teacher is the same one my DS10 had..so I told her she better come up with some new games or I'd get bored! She laughed and said she'd find a new one just for me.. I know hte game we did with DS's paperclips was we measured each kid lying on the floor w/ the paperclips... They had to guess and if they were within 10 they got a treat (well, all kids got a treat but the kids who guessed closests got a sticker).. the kids were so excited!!

We never did the 100 days of school thing either. My friends who are teachers do it now but I'm not sure when it is.

It warmed up a little today but it quickly cooled back down and the wind picked back up.

Just waiting for the 60 they keep promising for tomorrow. However back to way to cold on Sunday.

Today I think it got close to -20 with the windchill here. Winter took it's sweet time arriving here but it's here with a vengeance.

Vanyel - I'm going to see Dreamgirls with some friends tomorrow too! It looks like a good one.

I'm hoping to get some scrapping/swapping done this weekend - hope to wrap up my last swaps and get back to scrapping for myself.

Like KAMommy said, it was COLD here today, too. It is Homecoming week at my school, and we had all 1000 kids in the gym for the pep rally and crazy games for 2 hours this afternoon. They opened the doors, and with it being so cold, it actually made it bearable in the gym. So I guess that was a good thing!

We have 3 basketball games this week (one Tuesday, one Thursday, and one tomorrow). DH & I met my parents and my brother and SIL tonight for dinner to celebrate a promotion my dad received today. Tomorrow, I go to a nail appointment and then come home and get DH to head back to the school for the Homecoming game. We'll probably be there from 4:30 until about 9:30 or 10, and we'll probably lose! Sunday, I am planning to work on some swap stuff, do at least 2 pages for myself in my books, and then I have some work stuff to do. Then, Sunday night, I'm hoping for snow so we can have a SNOW DAY!!!

It's just a celebration day for the kids that they have been in school for 100 days of the school year. They do activites like counting to 100; share their 100 item collections... it's a fun day but yet it's hands on education!!! Plus, they get candy so that's a good day at school.. they just didn't have to learn! Yeah, right.. you were learning the entire day!
