On our last trip to WDW from NY we had a hard time finding a decent cup of coffee between New Jersey and Orlando. If anyone has any tips on where to get a decent cup of coffee anywhere along the way please fill me in!!!!!!!!

In Maryland and Virginia there were big welcome center stops that had Starbucks at them. It said Starbucks on the large signs. Beyond that....not much.

I just did the trip back and forth over the T-day holiday and I decided that I will never ever ever drive again. It was the longest 36 hours, 2200 miles EVER.

Thanks! I am hoping that someone has some tips about the southern end of the trip too! That is the long part of the trip for us!

exit 97 in NC has JR's. If you need a pit stop and want to stretch your legs it's a great place to stop. The store is HUGE and has everything under the sun in it.

Then 97 miles later is South of the Border

That will get you through the Carolina's

Georgia.....stop for gas and keep going

Once you hit the FL border you are exactly 200 miles to WDW

Well it may not be Starbucks, but Waffle House is a large chain, open 24/7, I've never had a bad cup there. They are pretty frequent along the interstates. If you are looking for GOURMET type coffee, it isnt, but it is fresh, unlike many convience stores and truck stops, where the slogan of "it's not old 'til it's sold" applies.

Good Luck!! Travel Safe!!

I am not looking for gourmet, really just a decent cup of coffee! We'll stop in the Waffle House this trip and give it a try!

Waffle house is not strong coffee though and I need strong coffee to make the drive. When we drive next time (from Bucks PA) I'm stopping at that last Starbucks in Virginia and buying 3-4 lattes with extra shots. I bought one of those heated coffee cup holders that plugs into the cigarette liter. I'll just drink one while reheating the next one on the way down.

On the way back you literally have to buy it in Orlando and take it with you.

I wish they made a coffee maker that plugged into the cigarette liter. Even if it only made one cup at a time (like a little percolator) it would be fine. I'm going to see if I can get a bottle warmer for the car after christmas. Maybe that would work better.

I suppose I could pack my percolator, plug it in at a rest area in SC/GA and let it perc while we stretch and use the rest room. Then take it with us. Why not? I've done stranger things at those rest areas after 12 hours in the car!

In the past when driving through the states I always found Burger King coffee to be good. Also the Sheetz chain of of gas/food stations to be great also.

As for the Starbucks at the rest stops.....I found below par.

Since I don't drink coffee anymore this is not an issue for me.

I'm glad that I'm not the only who thinks the southern stops on I-95 are lacking in a good cup of coffee! I think I may pack up some little tubs of International Delights creamers and make the best of it! Thanks for all of the tips.

not touching that one :rotfl2:

I just lost a full size pillow at a rest area, somehow it fell out of the van and I drove off without it :confused3
