Where in or around WDW is a place that has good Chicago style pizza?
Do any of them deliver to the WDW resorts?

:)

While it's not family owned, you most likely know about Uno (use to be Pizzaria Uno) is in the Crossroads Shoppping Center right outside of the Downtown Disney hotels.

Here's info!

407-827-1212
407-827-1211 (FAX)
12553 Sr-535
Crossroads Shopping Center
Orlando, FL 32836

There is also a Giradando's (sp?) a little north of crossroads. Don't know if they deliver tho.

Giordano's pizza will deliver to the lobby (or main building) of your hotel. At the moment, their web site is not working, hopefully a temporary thing, but go to www.giordanos.com and you can view and print out their menu.

Oh do not do Pizzeria Uno! We made that mistake in '96 and never will again. Nothing like what you'll find on Rush street - it only shares the name.

I haven't tried Giordano's down there, but I have tried their (now closed) location in Milwaukee and found it pretty similar.

Alsways hard to find Chicago pizza out of town!

I have had pizza from Pizzaria Uno from Orlando, to Wisconsin Dells, to Minnesota. Every time it is WONDERFULL!! If you have never tried it, give it a shot!

I have plans to order Giordano's (having it delivered) on one of our "sleeping in, hanging out at the pool" days next month. I have not had it before, but a friend just went to Chicago a few weeks ago and brought some home. She swears that it is the best Chicago style pizza she has ever had.

Just a historical note: This summer we ate at the original Pizzeria Uno in Chicago, and it was completely different from anything I've had elsewhere, including at Uno franchises. Even different than "Chicago Style" pizza elsewhere. It was deep dish of course. The crust was definitely not made from your usual yeast dough; I would guess it was made with baking powder. Rather than being "doughy" it was crumbly. The tomato sauce was not as sweetened as usual, more like tomato paste in flavor. The ingredients I don't remember as clearly, but I remember they were more of a "homemade" style than any franchise operation. Very different.

You see - that IS Chicago style pizza! In Chicago, the best places are Uno (and Due, down the street), Gino's East and Lou Malnatti's. Edwardo's and Giordano's are not bad either.

So if you've only had Uno's at the chain, you haven't had anything like the real Uno's. Too bad it doesn't have DisneyQuest down the street like it used to!

My parents have a timeshare in Kissimmee and never visit without going to Giordano's. It is my father's absolute favorite pizza - and he LOVES pizza!

Here in Chicago, my favorite is Giordanos! I don't like Unos at all. I don't care for Lou Malnatis either. Although I might buy their heart shaped pizza tomorrow for Valentine's day.

I haven't tried either in Orlando yet, but I am going to try Giordanos on our next trip! I just found out about the one there.

Maggie

Orlando's Unos is gross. Worst pizza in my life and nothing like the downtown. This was 3 or 4 years ago so maybe it has improved. :confused3 I wouldn't risk it. Giordonos is my personal choice over Unos anyway so try that one first.

We also love Giordano's. I just wish we had Chicago style pizza in Atlanta!

It's impossible to find good Chicago pizza in Houston! Hopefully Giordano's will be up to cravings. :thumbsup2

love uno's in chicago was thinking about trying it while at wdw, hate to hear it's not good.

I have some friends that moved to Orlando from Chicago area a few years ago, and they like Giordano's. Their fav was Gino's East. We went to visit them last month, and sure enough we went to Giordano's. We love our pizza!

Being from Chicago originally, I know exactly what you mean. Uno's, Giordano's, Gino's East, Home Run Inn, and practically every Mom & Pop pizza place I tried in Chicago have way better pizza than any I've had in Houston (sigh) :sad2:

On the bright note Houston has some great Mexican food and better weather (if you can stand the heat) :woohoo:

Oh, I so understand. Moved to SoCal in November and pizza is just not the same. I so miss Lou Malnattis. Had a little at X-Mas because IL family came and brought some with them. I keep thinking I need to order some frozen Malnattis online and have it delivered. People here just do not understand!

I grew up in Skokie. My favorite is Gino's East. Baccino's, Eduardo's, Giordano's and Lou Malnati's are all great. Never been a big fan of Uno's and Due's, but they are still better than most other pizza places outside of Chicagoland (their franchises are not up to par though).

There are two Giordano's in the area, one in Lake Buena Vista on 436, and one in Kissimmee on 192. Both taste just like they do back home. Both deliver. Depending on at which hotel you stay, one or the other might be much closer (192 is 5 minutes from Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, for example).

Call either, you will not be disappointed.
