Good but cheap eats?

Here is a picture of our favorite meal this trip. A chicken sandwhich with guacamole and a roasted green chile from Whitewater Snacks. As you can see, they cut it in half for us and DH and I were both full. Our teen boys split another. And it had a big piece of white meat chicken in it, not a little scrap.

If you are not big eaters, start by sharing a meal. Then if you're still hungry you can go back for more, or go experience another place. But if you get a meal for everyone and find out you're over-full, you can't send food back for a refund! :)

Also check out the kid's meals. I've only gotten them at counter service places, and they were the bean and cheese burrito meals at Rancho and Cocina Cucamonga, and also the penne pasta meal at Plaza Inn, but they are GREAT. Very filling, very good, and they include a drink (you have to ask if you want a little cup for soda, but I just generally get the little bottle of water).

We had dinner from Millie's. Hubby and I and our *starving* 4 year old (he gets so excited in the parks he forgets that he's hungry and refuses to eat) had ONE macaroni and cheese entree with ONE salad and ONE garlic bread order. It filled up all of us!
And was only something like $11. We got it to go on our walk back to HoJos and it was still hot when we got to the room. So good.

There's also Coco's on Katella.

That filled three people up? Craziness. My three year old niece could eat that all on her own along with some fruit and veggies (she's a growing girl, after all.)

Also for breakfast-- we like to have stuff in the hotel room. Saves time and lots of money. You can order groceries delivered or bring them if you're driving. We have cereal, fruit, yogurt, muffins, milk and juice, breakfast bars, stuff like that. We also had cheese and whole grain crackers. Lots of times we just nibbled on that stuff for lunch as well, when we went back for our midday break. Then we did one meal in the parks each day.

Breakfast in the room means you are full and energized before hitting the parks for those first couple of hours when the crowds are low! Also, you can take the portable stuff with you, and eat it while waiting in line for the gates to open. :thumbsup2 I've had people stare enviously at my apple, banana or muffin on those early mornings!

The first thing we do when we get into town is go to Target. We get a case of bottled water and snacks. Sometimes milk and cereal too. Our room at the Anaheim Plaza has had a fridge and microwave both times so that was nice.
