We are just not interested in any table service at DHS. We'd like to find a good breakfast that isn't in one of the parks. (No park hopper this time!) We already plan to eat at Chef Mickeys for breakfast. Any other suggestions?
Personally, Cape May Cafe is my favorite. Its at the BC so its close to DHS, just catch the boat over. It has characters but very subdued. Nice relaxing atmosphere and the best grits ever!
If you're looking for a good breakfast near DHS, I always like Cape May - big buffet and IMO a really good one (although no puffed french toast like at Crystal Palace). Plus then you can either walk or take the boat to DHS afterwards.
I'd agree with the others who say Cape May. Typical buffet offerings, but it's nice to see the characters in their beach attire, and for a day in DHS you're just a boat ride away from the park
I love Cape May and for a day to be spent at DHS you can't beat the location. Much more low key than other character meals and wonderful food. I'll also mention Kona Cafe but that would be more complicated to get to unless you were doing MK or Epcot.
To get to Cape May, just take the bus to DHS, then you can walk (takes about 15 minutes) or boat over to BC.
The concerns at H&V are generally about dinner, the character meals get good reviews. I would try to book this meal for you 5yo. The character meal is either bfast or lunch.
By the way we had dinner there in 2007 and found it to be just fine. Not special, but a good basic meal. The other buffets we had were Chef Mickey's bfast and Boma dinner, so H&V probably didn't stand a chance to be better than those.
