Just got back from a trip to France and had to stay at DLP!! We had a great time in France & DLP. I have to say the rides are longer and better at DLP than Disneyworld (WDW) Orlando, but WDW is cleaner. There are less smokers at WDW and less trash around. We were celebrating a birthday and tried to get a birthday pin at guest relations like here in Florida but were told they don't do that there. Even the hotel doesn't do anything. We did get a cake delivered at Newport Beach by a nice kid named Sebastian. HE made the night for us!!

Another bad point was Walts restaurant. Not the food but the service. Salvatore was our server and just kept rushing us through the meal because he said the kitchen was closing,: in fact he told us about 10 times!!!! There seemed to be no management to complain to but we did send an email later and they responded that they will look into it.

Now don't get me wrong, we did have a good time at DLP and the castmembers were very nice and we will probably go back if we are in the area again. I think Disney should get all their parks on the same page doing the same as far as selling the Disney product and image though.

The smoking is a real bugbear with most people and it's such a shame about the birthday badges, we get so many DISers asking on here about them that I know they would be very popular.

It's also a pity about the service at your meal at Walt's ~ we don't hear of many complaints so I'm hoping it was just an off-night, although that doesn't help you.

Still, glad you enjoyed your trip, thanks for sharing your thoughts.

We just got back as well, and had the EXACT same experience! The smokers were bad, but what was worse was the lack of lines. Anytime a character came out, there was a Huge mob!

As for the rides, they were great!

I think that’s the result of people abusing this service.
I read on the Dis Boards of so many people just lie about this just to get something for free.
