Has anyone flown with US Airways, or can you give a good company to fly with. I'm probably looking at flying out from Gatwick.

Many Thanks.

Ive flown with US Airways last year and they were very good. It was an indirect flight from manchester but no delays going or coming back at all and the cabin crew are nice and friendly.

Welcome to DIS :welcome:

I have flown with most transatlantic carriers, not a lot to choose between any, 10 years ago I would have put Virgin above the rest, today they are behind others. All depends which plane you get, which staff on the day etc. they all get you from A-B, I would travel with any, even BA who were the worst we have been with.

This probably isnt much help as it was 7 years ago, but i travelled to NY with them and they were great!

tend to agree with wayne, there much the same
But we find BMI beter than the rest

We've used them every time we have been to Florida. Always indirect from Manchester via Philly. We're frequent fliers with them and they've treated us very well on every trip.

I've flown transatlantic with BA; once about 8 years ago to Washington DC in business class and was impresssed. I was less impressed in coach going to NYC 18 months ago.

We had booked tickets with BMI about 3 years ago, but they messed the flight times about and we ended up cancelling and booking with US Airways instead.

We've already booked US Airways again for next Easter.

If I was given a choice now of who to fly with then I agree it would be BMI they have been the best flights in past few years for us. I still hope one day they will fly direct MAN-MCO. Coming home with them again this August hope their standards haven't dropped. Flying out with Virgin again free flight not even going to try the food this time, eating before we board, so sick of Virgins food.

We went with NWA and they were very good, virgin ok,globespan gd,luftansa very gd, nwa was the best though.

I want to go with AA as I like how shiny and silver and cool they look, lol

NWA are one we still haven't tried. Using them for 1st time in October, Fly out with them and return with Delta. £241 return Oct half term, worth driving to Heathrow at that price.

AA are worth flying with just for the Pizza, no idea how pizza on an aircraft can taste so good. :goodvibes

NWA and Delta are merging - i think by october the merger will have gone through...
i don't know what the new name will be...delta-northwest?...
not sure...

i hate them both, but northworst most of all.....but as i've written before, my hatred of them stems mostly from the ground service....the onboard staff is sometimes very good (sometimes very bad - luck of the draw)....on the ground they're almost univerally bad....so when you get someone good, which does happen every now and then, it can truly make your day, since you're expecting bad...

however, i would imagine that the ground crew in the UK is better than in the US......

I've flown USairways a few years back from Manchester, via Philly, and found it fine... we are going with them again in 3 weeks, and haven't prebooked seats or anything... is this possible via USAirways? Not worried about it - I'm normally so early at the airport we get pretty close to the front of the line!

If you have an e-Ticket, you should have a confirmation code. You can use that on their website, from the homepage select Travel Tools, then Manage Reservations, to select your seats. However, I have to say that I don't think we've ever ended up with the seats that we have selected using this - so don't expect to get the seats you ask for!
