So far I am only coming up with rates from $200+ per person from MCI to MCO. (Kansas City to Orlando) We can fly out of St. Louis also. Will there be some better fares coming out between now and then??? Or should I snag something now? Anyone have any suggestions?

And why is it that every time I put in that I have a child to try and get a child's fare it always comes up as being exactly the same fare as an adult??? Just curious. I already have my passes and hotel so I don't need a vacation package. Thanks for any help!! :)

Your fares are pretty much determined by what Southwest Airlines does. Watch their website, www.iflyswa.com for specials. (They have new ones every Tuesday). The other airlines usually match their fares.

If your travel dates are a ways off, keep watching.

Right now, Northworst has special fares of $116 RT from MCI to MCO through 1/11/02, and Delta has $115.72 RT from STL to MCO through 6/02. Both of these are great fares.

If I were you, I would book one of the $78 RT fares from MCI - TPA which are available on Delta, Northwest, TWA, Continental, American through 1/11/02.

I would look into that 115.72 airfare out of STL thats great I bought delta from Orbitz 2 weeks ago at 125.00 rt thought that was good. cmatt

$78 to Tampa!!! I will definately have to check that one out!!! We are traveling on 11/8 after 6 pm and coming home 11/13 anytime. Thanks for the answers and I will investigate the possibilities you all mentioned as soon as DH gets off of my back about how it is time to watch the movie we rented:rolleyes: . ;)

I live near spfd. mo. and get better air fare from tulsa or memphis the kc or Stl but right now it looks pretty good at stl on Orbitz.com good luck cmatt

Howdy!
OK, I am not finding a $78 RT rate anywhere. But on Southwest I am finding an internet one-way rate at $41.75/person each way. So for the two of us it would cost us $167 total. Is there anything we should be careful of with these one-way rates? I see it says nonrefundable. And unchangeable unless they cancel the ressie and reschedule you based on the lowest avail fare at that time. No standby without upgrading to higher rate. This is all to Tampa. I am not really thrilled with the flight time either. But.....Is priceline any better than these restricted fares? I mean, PL is non-refundable, non-changeable, non-anythingable. The only difference I can really see if that you may be able to use the tickets bought through the airlines as a credit on another flight if you decide not to use them. With PL you can't do that.

I am going to check out orbitz.com and see what they say. Cheapest with orbitz is $109/person.

Howdy back
I just got off of hotwire.com 167.00 rt stl to mco if that 109.00 is rt whats wrong with that ,, are you going to tampa or orlando ?/ I keep wandering if i got a good deal or not at 125.00 rt stl to mco but i think so atleast on orbitz you get to see times and airline, oh well i don't know what to say. lol cmatt

I would say that you got a DARN good deal flying out of St. Louis. They are always MUCH higher than flying out of KC. I got the same rate, $125 from priceline, flying out of KC and going to LAX. (los angeles-----doing disneyland!!) I sometimes forget to even check St. Louis because they are always higher.

The $109 was reported for Kansas City to ??? ( I can't remember which destination I choose)....not St. Louis.....so you still have an incredible deal!! Don't worry. I am just so darn cheap that I am trying to get the absolutely lowest fare humanly possible. And since someone saw $78 RT then I wan't to get the same fare or beat it!!! :D

Back to doing more research!!

friskykitten, just a friendly warning...I would not be at all surprised if the fares you are finding today are gone sometime tomorrow and there are higher ones. If you are at all interesting in those fares, I would suggest buying them tonight. The airlines are losing money selling those routes at those prices.

By the way, the $78 RT fare I found was the base fare...not including tax. Total with tax was around $100.

Right now Southwest has $83.50 RT for your dates (Base fare: $66.98 + Tx)
Right now Continental has $109 RT for your dates and times. (Base fare: $86.05 + Tx)

Thanks!

Due to your and TravelSheryls advice I am heading right over there and grabbing it!! :bounce:

I reserved it. It actually ended up costing $187 total for two RT tickets because I chose a flight earlier in the day instead of arriving in Tampa after midnight. I am happy!!:D Thanks for everyone's help!! You were great! Now off to national to cancel one ressie and make another!

Good for you, i checked also yesterday at orbitz my 125.00 still looks good so i glad i bought when i did both memphis and tuls were well over 200.00 so lol on your trip
